"I suppose since you claim his house was empty, you were either too late, or he received a helpful hint that someone was coming." Voldemort was snarling and walked slowly around the table, almost as though he had carefully calculated every step he took. "If it's the second then I suggest you start preparing your last words." He pointed his wand between the two of us and I squeezed Draco's hand tight. "But no matter, that's not what we're here for right now. Today we are here to welcome Blaise to the right side of history!" Voldemort threw his hands up in the air as though he had just made the greatest announcement ever to exist. I felt Draco's thumb brushing over the back of my hand, trying to calm me.

"Bring the boy over here, Wormtail," Voldemort demanded. Wormtail scurried over, his wand still lodged in the side of Blaise's neck, and handed him off to Voldemort, who wrapped his grimy hands around Blaise's arm. I tried to look away, but a death eater ran up behind me and picked my head up, refusing me the option to look away.

"No, please," Blaise begged, tears mixing with the dry blood on his face. My mind kept wandering in and out. As I looked at him, I saw flashes of the Blaise I saw when he was captured the first time. His clothes: dirty and ripped. His shoes: busted and filthy. His face: bloody and wet. "Please," he gasped. "Please. Luna, please."

"Lu-na? What is a Luna?" Voldemort looked over at us and pointed his wand in our direction. "What is a Luna?"

"M-my girlfriend. Please, I can't. I don't want to be like this. I don't want her to see me like this." Blaise was begging. Voldemort leaned in closer to Blaise, whispering to him.

"A girlfriend? Well don't worry boy, we'll make sure she doesn't see you like this," he hissed. What is that supposed to mean?

I didn't have time to even think of the possibilities. Voldemort grabbed into Blaise's wrist and ripped his sleeve up, shoving the tip of his wand into his skin. Blaise clenched his jaw and looked away from his arm, unable to even look at the damage that was being done. The death eater behind me held my jaw tight so I couldn't look away. I scrunched my eyes closed but felt a wand stabbing me in the side, demanding I watched.

He had lost his entire future within a matter of seconds.

The death eater finally let go of my face and Voldemort had thrown Blaise to the floor, walked over him then left the room. I ran over to Blaise, taking him in my arms and running my hand over his head.

"Y/n?" he said weakly.

"It's me, Blaise, it's me. I'm sorry." I tried to keep my tears from falling but I couldn't. "I'm so sorry."

He held onto my hand and looked into my eyes, brushing tears out of my face. "It's going to be okay. It's not your fault. It's okay." I had known him for so long that it was easy to tell when he was lying. He was only telling me what he thought would make me feel better; what I wanted to hear. He lost everything he was looking forward to, and I felt guilty about it.

And what about Luna?

"What's he going to do to Luna?" Blaise asked, standing up as he held onto my arm for support. I shook my head and watched as Draco came over to us and grabbed onto Blaise's other arm. "Thanks, mate."

"I have no idea, but I'm sure she'll be okay," I lied. Luna's name had been thrown around and she would for sure be in danger now.

"I love her, you know? I can't bear to have her involved in any of this. Y/n, can you please go find her? Please? You have to help her get away-"

"Blaise I don't really think it's a good idea," Draco interrupted, "I mean, we're bound to be punished for helping you, I don't think we should risk it again." Draco looked at me but I kept my eyes down, thinking. I could help her, couldn't I? If Voldemort didn't officially have business with her yet, then maybe we wouldn't be punished as severely. Maybe a death eater version of a slap on the wrist for not being available to the Dark Lord when called, but it would be fine. "Y/n?" Draco asked, getting my attention. I looked up and saw how both of them were staring at me. I looked at Blaise and nodded.
