Arine was currently in her room. She was still confused about what type of conversation she had with Taiyo. She sat crossed leg on her large fluffy bed. It was occupied by some cute bunny and unicorn stuff toys, mainly for show.

Gar was in the Common Room watching T.V with the rest of the Titans. Well, all but Nightwing. He was involved in the most important work in the whole Universe. Something which is more important than stopping a villain. If he doesn't do then all the people in this world will come in danger.
And that most important work is...
.....
.....
.....

Helping his 5-year-old daughter in learning how to count. Yes, Nightwing, the leader of The Titans was teaching his cute little chubby girl how to count. Now you tell me, how do you ignore the face was an extremely cute orange hair, blue eyes, and marvelous puppy face plastered on their face.

Can you?

Gar was somehow distracted by some other feelings. His animal instincts warned him that his pup is in danger. At first, he ignored that feeling. There is no way Arine can be in danger, even if she was, she is more than capable of protecting herself.

But he felt something else. Something Evil, something demonic. He can't ignore the fact that Arine is a quarter demon and thus granddaughter of Trigon The Terrible. After Raven's death, there is no one to stop Trigon from influencing her.

That thought scared him the most. Arine was too innocent to understand such things. She is still not aware of the fact that she is the grand offspring of the most dreadful demon in the multi-universe.

"Friend Garfield, are you ok?" Kori has been reporting his expressions for the last few minutes, and he seems distant.
He moved his glance from blank space to Kori's face. "Yeah, I'm cool!"

Kori shrugged, even though she was concerned about her friend's strange behavior. Again he was occupied by his own thoughts again. But this time, it was Raven.

He knew why she died and how she died, and he can't help but feel guilty. He knew that he had criticised himself for his parents death for a long time even though it wasn't his fault. But now, he can't help but criticise himself for Raven's death.

She committed suicide that was for sure. But it was because she was suffering. Suffering from such a disease in which she can't seek help of her own daughter.

He was feeling guilty for lot of things. Leaving Raven for Terra. Not be able to find Raven at right time. Leaving Raven to raise their child alone. Letting her suffer. Making his child feel helpless and unwanted. Making Arine feel that she was the reason behind her mother's death. But... It was him. All the time. It was his fault. He was the one to be blamed not that poor kid.

He knew that he made a promise to himself the day his parents died that he won't let his child have the same life he had, but his daughter didn't even knew him for the first 16 years of her life. DAMN 16 YEARS!

He know that he failed in his promise. But this time be won't let that happen again. He promise himself that he will protect  Arine, no matter what! He had already lost his mate. Now he can't loose his one and ONLY pup.

He knew that one day or other Trigon will come. And after realizing that his grand daughter his is gifted weather controlling powers by Gods. He certainly want her to work for him. But till then, they have to make sure Arine doesn't find out who Trigon is.

His thoughts were broken by a crime alert. Normal day.

All gathered around the computer as Nightwing search for the villain.

"It says that someone has broken into the C411 warehouse which is full of toxic chemicals. We have to stop them before they do any harm with it! TITANS GO!" nightwing was fast!

The warehouse was different from other ones. It was more protected by chemical proof coatings. They entered the dark warehouse.

They heard metal steps behind them. Nightwing was the first one turning around and what he saw was effective enough to widened his eyes in shock.

All Titans followed his lead and was sure enough met with the same shock. All but Arine who doesn't even know who this guy is.

"SLADE! " Nightwing said through gritting his teeth.

Arine could hear her father growl with anger.

"Hello Titans!" Slade said in his deep husky voice. Even after so many years, his voice didn't change at all. All that dangerous and cautioning.

"Wh-" Nightwing was cut by Gar.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" Gar's voice was really deep. It was not Gar's voice. It was beast's voice. They haven't seen this guy in like... God knows how many years. And after this much time he has returned. It means no good.

"You know why." Even if he wore a mask. Titans could feel a wicked grin on his face as he said those words. His forehead burned with a familiar blood red mark. The scathe.

Before all could be digest, Titans heard a high pitch scream. It was Arine. And worst part was... Her skin was glowing with same markings.

Gar quickly rushed towards the screaming girl. Her beautiful eyes were filled with the only thing he feared the most, pain.

She feel as if her skin was burning. Her father came there to comfort her but only voice she heard was this deep demonic voice.

Your Time Is Coming Arine

She cried and screamed as the lights in the warehouse started to flicker. No one noticed Slade leaving. All were focused on this poor girl. The flickering lights were just a small show of the large storm outside.

The sound of winds moving and thrashing matched with the sound of Arine shouting in pain.

The marks slowly disappeared as well as her pain. She was too tired with the energy used as she fainted on the spot. Gar took the shaken girl in his arms as some of her dry tears run against his fabric.

"This can't be happening!" Gar was the one to break the silence. He can't see his daughter in such pain everyday. He knew what happened to Raven and how bad it was. This time Trigon will be much powerful and Arine is not as strong as her mother.

"Don't worry Gar, we will protect her. Just like we did for her. Let's go to tower and let Arine rest!" Nightwing's voice was comforting.

Gar nodded. He looked at his sweet baby girl who was still uncomfortable from such event.

He sighed and took off for the Tower. Looks like this time, they will do it without Raven, but no matter what, he will protect her!
