friday, 11:24pm

felix's day had been pretty good, he finished all his homework, had a good dinner, and overall felt pretty good compared to the last few days.

but now here he was, sat on the floor of his bedroom. it was about a quarter past eleven, he listened to his parents yell at each other from downstairs.

it terrified him, whenever they would fight. because it brought him back to that one night.

his phone buzzed, he grabbed it and read the text. it was jisung, he was asking if he could come over.

he couldn't bring himself to text back. it's like he was frozen in place.

——

jisung stared at his phone screen.

read.

how come he wasn't responding?

"fuck it." jisung muttered, as he began walking to felix's house.

soon enough he arrived and climbed up felix's window. he peered in through, and saw felix on the floor, leaning on his bed.

jisung opened the window, and climbed in.

"felix?" he called out, he could hear shaky, quiet cries coming from the boy and yells from downstairs.

felix's head popped up, "s—sung..." he whispered, jisung helping him stand up.

"c—can we go please?" he asked with tears in his eyes.

"sure, where do you wanna go?" jisung asked, leading the boy to the window.

"a—anywhere, just... n—not here." felix mumbled, looking down.

"do you want me to pack some stuff for you? we can go get my dads car and go for a drive, is that okay?" jisung asked carefully.

felix nodded, "yeah, i'd like that." he whispered.

"okay, go wait outside. i'll get your stuff." jisung said, as felix nodded and climbed out the window.

jisung grabbed a backpack hanging on the door and grabbed a couple hoodies, a pillow and the teddy bear sitting on felix's bed.

carrying the teddy bear, jisung carefully climbed out the window and grabbed felix's hand, before running down the road.

——

jisung handed the bag and the teddy bear to felix, "wait here." he whispered, climbing up to his bedroom window.

soon enough, he slowly climbed down to the ground with a backpack and a blanket in hand.

felix took the blanket from his hands as jisung unlocked the car, before opening the back door and putting all of their stuff in.

both boys got in, buckling up, driving out of the driveway and down the road.

meanwhile, jisung's father— who was awake— opened the front door, to see his car down driving down the road.

"how many times do i have to tell that kid not to take my car—"

——

felix stared out the window as the world passed by, jisung glancing at him and then back at the road.

jisung turned on the radio, a popular english song coming on and filling the quiet car ride with beautiful lyrics.

felix teared up, he understood the lyrics and what they meant.

it made him realize, that he wasn't the only person that felt like this. there were people all around the world, who understood what he went through.

he finally felt as if he wasn't alone on this journey.

he sighed and wiped his eyes, sitting up. "where are we going?" he asked quietly.

"you said you wanted to go anywhere, so we're going anywhere." jisung smiled softly.

"driving around with no destination whatsoever." he whispered, turning his focus back to the road.

after awhile of driving, jisung parked at a cliff that was overlooking the city.

felix sat at the edge of his seat and stared in awe, it looked so pretty. the big city lights with quiet music playing in the background.

jisung smiled at him and chuckled, "do you like it?" he asked.

"i love it! it's so beautiful.." felix smiled, his eyes sparkling.

felix and jisung talked about random things, felix now wearing an oversized black hoodie.

jisung smiled at felix, as he talked about a cat he had before he moved to korea. his eyes shined and sparkled talking about the kitten.

it was the cutest thing ever.

felix yawned, and glanced at the clock on the dashboard. it was now three forty two am, "we should go to bed now." he said.

jisung nodded, and they both got out of the car and into the backseat. jisung laid down, smiling shyly when the younger cuddled up to him.

jisung wrapped his arms around the younger and breathed in his scent.

the two boys quickly fell asleep in each other's arms, comforted by the feeling of being in each other's presence.

they felt safe.
