after the check ups, jisung and his father were sat in the waiting room eating snacks from the vending machine.

"i'm gonna be putting you back in school." jisung's father said out of nowhere, making jisung almost drop his bag of m&m's.

"what?! but dad, you know why i—"

"i know, but what if it's different? and don't you want to be with felix?" mr. han asked his son, making jisung slump in his seat.

"i saw the way you looked at him that day, when he looked all beaten up."

jisung sighed and rolled his eyes a bit, "that's just what friends do—"

"you shouldn't be scared anymore, son. i'm putting you backing in school." jisung rolled his eyes again and nodded, crossing his arms.

"i'm not scared." he mumbled, downing the rest of the m&m's.

——

"may i ask how long the full recovery will take?" mrs. lee asked the doctor.

"around three months, four at most. i suggest he takes some time off school to recover." felix's parents nodded at the doctor's words, while the young boy just kept his eyes on the floor the entire time.

the doctor soon left the room and mrs. lee called out to her son.

"felix?"

felix hummed, "the doctor said that you can be discharged. were you listening?" his mother asked.

"yup." felix said quietly, not bothering to look up.

mrs. lee gave her husband a look, and he only shrugged.

"i'll go sign the papers, and we can go home." felix's father said, walking out of the room.

"can you tell jisung to come in here?" felix asked his mother quietly, and she nodded even though he wasn't looking.

she left the room, and soon jisung walked in.

felix finally looked up when he felt the hospital bed sink down beside him, making eye contact with jisung who was staring at him with a worried look on his face.

"what's wrong?" jisung asked, grabbing his hand.

"i don't like hospitals." the younger mumbled, looking back down at the floor.

jisung huffed, "i don't like hospitals either, they're creepy and smell like hand sanitizer and old people." felix chuckled a bit at jisung's words.

"that's not why i don't like them though.." he said quietly after.

"you don't have to tell me, lix." jisung said softly, playing with felix's hand.

after a few moments of silence, jisung cleared his voice. "my dads putting me back in school."

felix's eyebrows furrowed, "so, basically.. we're gonna be classmates!" jisung smiled, making felix laugh.

"at least now, i'll have someone to each lunch with." felix smiled, and jisung nodded.

"i'm never gonna let you be lonely ever again." the elder said, pulling the blonde into a hug.

the two boys quickly pulled away from each other when the door opened, and their parents walked in.

"we can go home now." mr. lee said as he walked into the room with a wheelchair.

felix furrowed his brows, "and i have to use a wheelchair?" he asked.

"well duh, how are you gonna use crutches with a dislocated shoulder?" felix chuckled and shook his head.

jisung smiled at the younger, but then noticed the boys father glaring at him. he looked down at the floor and awkwardly cleared his voice.

"w—well, we're gonna go now too." jisung mumbled out, standing up and walking towards his father.

"i'll call you later, lix—"

"actually, since you both have concussions, you won't be able to use your phones for over a week." mrs. lee popped up, both the boys nodding.

"well.." jisung hummed. "i'll see you in a week." felix smiled at the elder.

jisung waved at him and his father walked out of the room, felix giving a small wave back.

felix sighed and looked at his parents, "you're not allowed to hang around him anymore." his father said sternly, as he rolled the wheelchair over.

"what? why not?" felix asked, furrowing his brows.

"do you what happened, felix? he got you into another accident—"

"it's not like it was his fault! i was there, so i know!" felix argued, his father sighing.

"guys, not right now. felix is injured and needs to be careful, you're stressing him out." felix's mother said to her husband, walking over to her son.

soon enough, they helped felix into the wheelchair and went home.
