"hey felix?" the boy turned around when he heard daseo behind him.

"oh, hey daseo." he said, continuing to put his books in his locker.

"so um, i just wanted to thank you for helping me with my homework a few days ago." the girl said shyly, avoiding eye contact.

"oh, it's no problem really." felix smiled at the shorter girl in front of him.

"yeah, i still just wanted to thank you because i would've fail if it wasn't for you." daseo laughed, felix facing her and closing his locker.

"you're wel-"

felix pulled away from the girl in front of him and slapped a hand over his mouth.

"w-why would you do that?" he asked, his eyes wide from shock after the girl just kissed him.

"daseo.. you know i like guys-"

"y-yeah, i just figured i could turn you-"

felix backed away from her, "y-you can just turn someone straight, why would you think that?" he asked, daseo shaking her head.

"i'm sorry! i wasn't thinking-"

"i have to go." felix said quickly, walking away from the girl who was calling his name.

felix couldn't think straight the rest of the day, not being able to focus in his classes. he stared at the seat beside him, where jisung usually sat.

the boy had skipped classes, and felix wondered why knowing he was here earlier.

he just shrugged it off and continued trying to do his work, but his mind kept going elsewhere.

--

that night felix couldn't sleep, so he tried texting his best friend but the boy never answered.

he sighed when he tried calling him, but it only went straight to voicemail.

maybe his phone is dead. or he's probably just sleeping. felix thought to himself, getting out of bed and going downstairs.

he dug through the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, looking for a bottle of sleeping pills.

"what are you looking for?" seowon's voice interrupted. felix flinched at her, before sighing heavily. "sleeping pills."

"they're in my room." seowon said, going to her room with felix following closely behind her. "why do you have them?" he asked her, when she handed him the bottle.

"can't sleep. it runs in the family, even you." felix fought back the urge to roll his eyes, thanking his sister and going back to his room.

felix finally fell asleep in bed, it only taking a few minutes with the sleeping pills.

earlier today.

jisung smiled brightly at the bouquet of flowers seungmin had given him.

white tulips specifically, jisung had saw them taped onto the wall in felix's bedroom. he wondered if they were the boys favourites.

jisung handed seungmin a ten dollar bill that had a small rip in it. "here, thank you for buying these."

seungmin shook his head, "no. i don't need it. it's okay."

jisung stared at seungmin, "just take it, i don't need it. you were the one who bought the flowers anyway." jisung said, grabbing seungmin's hand and giving him the money.

"just take it, min." seungmin slowly smiled and nodded his head. "thanks.." he said quietly.

"if you ever need to worry about eating lunch, dinner or literally anything, just text me." jisung said.

"jisung, that's too much-"

"i did it once, i'll do it again." jisung said, smiling at the tall boy.

"i have to go, i have a date." jisung laughed and seungmin waved at him.

jisung started walking the direction felix's locker was, reading the tag on the bouquet of flowers which read "felix" in cursive.

he deeply inhaled the scent of the flowers and small smile appeared in his face.

just as he turned the corner, he saw felix and was about to call out to him when a girl came up to him.

he didn't want to just give the flowers to the blonde in front of girl, since he didn't want to embarrass him so he waited.

it was so random, it came from nowhere.

even with how fast it was, it wasn't as fast as jisung's heart breaking into a million tiny pieces.

jisung felt his vision get blurry from tears and he started running, dropping the flowers in the process and stopping to pick them up. before he realized who the flowers was for and stomped on them.

he ran out of the school building, sneaking past the guard who was fast asleep and jumping the fence.

he didn't know where to go, he certainly didn't want to go home, since he knew he would have to see the woman he called his mother there.

that's the last person he wanted see. or maybe second last.
