felix was stood in the kitchen, making himself a late breakfast (a bowl of cereal) when he heard his mother talking to someone.

that was strange, his father wasn't home, nor was his sister.

he just shrugged and grabbed his bowl of cereal, about to walk up the stairs and back to his room when his mothers voice called out to him.

"felix, honey. these are our new neighbors!" she smiled brightly, gesturing to the woman and boy who were standing beside her.

"you're my sons age, maybe you two can become friends?" his mother asked kindly.

felix bit his lip awkwardly, staring at his mother with wide eyes.

"uh—"

"sure! i love making new friends and meeting new people!" the boy said, looking at felix with a kind smile.

felix awkwardly nodded, "can't relate." he whispered to himself.

"well, why don't you two go upstairs and get to know each other!" the boys mother said, and felix sighed when he saw his mother nod.

the two boys went up to the olders bedroom, and sat beside each other quietly.

"um.. is it o—okay if i change? y—you can... play some music, if you want." felix stuttered shyly.

"sure— oh, i'm jeongin by the way." the boy giggled, realizing they never introduced themselves.

"i'm felix.." he whispered shyly.

"yeah, i know. i heard your mom when she called you." jeongin smiled and felix nodded again.

felix left to the bathroom and changed, while jeongin looked through the shelf of music albums on felix's wall. he finally found one he liked and put it on.

he glanced around the room, walking over to the dresser which had a folder of pictures on it.

he opened the folder, flipping through some pictures of a little girl he could only assume was his sister. for some reason, there were barely any photos of felix.

suddenly, felix walked in the room and gasped, snatching the folder out of jeongin's hands.

"s—sorry, i didn't mean to snoop." jeongin mumbled.

"i—it's okay.. i just have ugly baby photos, it's embarrassing." felix brushed off.

"really? i didn't really see—"

"oh, yeah.. i—i took them out." felix said quickly, and jeongin nodded sitting back on the bed.

"you have a nice room, i wish my mom would let me decorate my room sometimes." jeongin said, looking at the posters on the walls.

"thanks..." felix mumbled. "w—where did you move from?" he asked.

"busan! um.. s—something happened with my family, so me and my mom decided to move here. is it nice here?" the younger asked.

"it's n—not the best, but it's good i guess. there's not really anything to do here, except go to the movies or something." felix explained as jeongin nodded at his words.

"what about you? your name is felix, so you must be a foreigner?" jeongin asked curiously.

"oh yeah.. i'm from australia, but i moved here a—after something h—happened..." felix said, noticing how much he was stuttering.

"sorry.. i d—don't really like talking about it..." he said, looking down.

"it's okay, i know how it feels." jeongin mumbled the last part, standing up when he heard his mother calling his name from downstairs.

"i'll see you later, i guess? here's my number, by the way." he smiled, handing felix a piece of paper while he nodded.

the boy and his mother soon left, and felix was laying in his bed silently.

the sun was just setting, beautiful colours of orange, red and pink in the sky, the colours seeping in through his opened window.

felix sat up and stared out the window, staring at every little beautiful detail in the sky.

he had never once looked at the sunset while all alone with his thoughts. it made him realize how beautiful it truly was.

tears welled up in his eyes, thinking about that night on the bridge. when he met him.

what if he had never stopped him? would he have died and never been able to see the sunset? it was a miracle that he was still here.

and god was he thankful for his best friend having stopped him.
