jisung watched as felix stood up, leaning his head back and coughing a bit. if he were to be honest, all he wanted to do in that moment was cry.

but he couldn't. so he did the second best thing, taking a step towards felix before back-hugging him tightly.

"i—i'll give you some space." hyunjin mumbled quietly, leaving the room and closing the door behind him.

felix didn't know what else to do, tensing at the hug for a split second. before he turned around and hugged jisung back just as tightly.

jisung sniffled as they finally pulled away after a few minutes, he looked at felix, seeing some white powder on his nose. he wiped it away, before sitting on the floor, felix moving to sit beside him. there was a few moments of silence when jisung finally spoke up.

"lix, talk to me." he said quiet, staring at the boy who looked to be zoning out. "please." he pleaded again. "why..?" he asked, his voice breaking as he spoke.

"i—i don't know.." felix mumbled, just as quietly. "was it because of what happened at the diner?" felix stayed quiet for a few seconds, and jisung grabbed his hand, making felix look at him. he shrugged and bit down on his lip.

"it was something that daeju said." he said quietly, feeling jisung squeeze his hand to encourage him to keep speaking. jisung quietly asked what it was, but felix didn't say anything.

"lix?" he called out, and the boy sighed.

"y'know i'm adopted, right?" he asked and jisung nodded his head. "before i moved here, m—my dad was kind of an asshole." felix said slowly, his voice slightly shaking.

"we got into a car wreck, and i was the only one who survived. but that's not the important part..."

"what is, lix?" the elder asked, squeezing felix's hand once again. felix took a deep breath, exhaling before he continued.

"my dad was driving, but he turned around to yell at me. h—he said.." felix paused, taking another deep breath. "he said, i'm always crying for no reason."

"a—and at the diner, daeju said that too. i got scared, and i didn't know what to do.." he said, sniffling as a test fell from his eye.

"so i ran."

jisung stared at felix in silence, "i'm always running." the boy whispered, as he leaned his head on jisung's shoulder. "i didn't know what else to do. i guess, i didn't want to hurt you by..."

"by what, lix?" jisung questioned quietly, making felix sigh. "relapsing." he said, jisung's heart aching at the word. "i don't know why i thought t—this would be better." felix said again.

"this is basically the same thing as relapsing, right?" he said after a few moments. jisung shrugged, "i dunno. i've never done either of these things."

felix sadly chuckled at the words, "that's a good thing though." he said, sighing when he felt a wave of dizziness hit him. "sung." he called out quietly, the boy humming. "i'm dizzy." he said again.

"it's okay, lix. you can go to sleep, i'll be here when you wake up." jisung whispered softly. "on the floor?" the younger asked with a short chuckled.

jisung playfully rolled his eyes at the boy, before he stood up and helped the blonde stand up as well. the two of them made their way out of the bathroom. hyunjin's eyes wandered over them, noticing the way felix's pupils were dilated when the boy looked at him.

"you don't mind if we stay the night?" jisung asked as they sat down on the sofa beside the eldest. hyunjin shook his head, "as long as someone doesn't overdose." he mumbled, and felix laughed.
