TRIXIE'S POV:

"Kill his son?" I repeated, my jaw dropping "but how old is he?"

"Uhh I'm not sure actually" he said "younger than me, a year older than you so around 19 I think"

"I'm asking about his age as if this makes any of this better" I cried "how can you bring yourself to kill innocent people like this?"

"If killing people means protecting my family then there's no question about it" he said firmly "and this boy isn't innocent, Trix"

"What? Why?"

"He's killed a lot of our soldiers, he's as dangerous as his own parents. It's extremely important that we don't come into contact with him"

"What's his name?" I asked, but Lenny shook his head, looking downwards.

"It's classified information but it won't matter cause he'll be dead soon. I observed him for a second, he was definitely desensitised to all of this. I guess that's what years of training did to him.

"I think I've heard enough for one night" I said, nodding my head and getting up to go to my own room.

Alejandro's son probably wasn't as innocent as I thought he was but it seemed so wrong taking someone's life like that.

I was getting ready for bed when my phone started ringing. I sighed, I hate answering calls, especially at night. I looked at the caller and saw it was Hendrix. I felt myself smiling at his name but rolled my eyes and declined the call. Not me seeing his name and getting butterflies that quickly.

I got into bed, pulling the covers over myself before my mind somehow drifted back to him.

HENDRIX'S POV:

I sighed as Trixie declined my call, dropping my phone down on the floor next to me. She's probably already found out that I was meant to be her enemy.

I felt sick and guilty. I genuinely liked her so much yet this lifestyle had ruined any chance I'd had at a relationship with her. I'd even have settled for friendship. Anything, as long as it was with her.

I heard the door creak open and looked over to see Dad stood by it.

"Come downstairs" he said, walking away soon after he'd spoken. I felt my anxiety rushing in as I stood up, glancing over at Daisy who was sound asleep. There was a faint orange beam of light coming from outside that reflected on her little face, making me smile a little before I left the room.

-

"We're extremely disappointed in you"

I stood before my parents in the living room. To say it was past 1am they were both fully dressed as if they were going out somewhere.

"I'm sorry, I just couldn't bring myself to just stand by and watch one of our men stab a girl to death"

"He wasn't going to stab her!" yelled Mom, I watched Dad place a hand on her knee to calm her down as I became irritated.

"I'm sorry" I repeated without feeling a morsel of guilt for the situation I'd put them in.

"It's okay" said Dad "you didn't exchange contacts or anything, did you? Cause then we'll have a problem"

I shook my head as I thought back to the missed call causally sitting in my call history. And the white heart I'd put next to her name.

"Good" said Dad, standing up and patting my shoulder as he chuckled to himself.

"Can't have you falling in love with the enemy"

I laughed along with him, feeling shivers go down my spine. I didn't even want to imagine what they'd do if they found out I'd spent three hours staring into her eyes on the hood of an abandoned car.

"Your Mom and I are going away for business, we'll be back in around two days" said Dad, walking out the room.

"You can have friends over" said Mom "no girls and none of Daisy's friends, they're so childish"

"Because they're children? Mom she's four years old"

She glared at me coldly before following Dad out. I walked behind them into the kitchen where Dad had a laptop open with Trixie's face on it. I felt my stomach drop when I recognised the picture.

It was of me and her sitting on the hood of the abandoned car.

But the picture was blurry and I had my hood up so I was unrecognisable. Her on the other hand, her face was crystal clear. Dad pointed at her, looking at me.

"This was the last time we saw her" he said "now I need you to finish the job since you've seen her"

"What?" I said, furrowing my eyebrows as I looked at him.

"I need you to kill her" he said "that way we'll get through to Mattia. It's like a warning"

"No!" I exclaimed "if you want Mattia dead so bad then kill him, stop getting his family involved!"

Mom and Dad were in disbelief. I'd never said no to taking a life, as much as I regretted it I knew it was for the best. But I may have just found my soulmate. Having blood on my hands was bad enough.

But her blood? The mere idea made me want to end my own life. I'd never be able to forgive myself.
