TRIXIE'S POV:

I looked at Dad, time slowed as I looked at Mom. Had I heard her right? Cheating? 6 months?

"Please.." I started "please tell me this is some sick joke, Dad? Tell me she's joking?"

I stared at him as he looked at the ground. I felt my heart skipping beats as Mom shook her head. Hendrix said something behind me but I didn't hear, I was frozen to my spot, my stomach beginning to twist.

"Is it true?" I asked, feeling a hand on my shoulder. Dad hesitated before exhaling, nodding his head.

"I can't, I can't breathe" I cried, fanning my face with one hand as the other flew to my chest. I felt goosebumps rising on my skin and tears falling down my cheeks as Hendrix held my arms, making me look at him.

"Trixie?" he looked at me frantically "Trixie, just breathe for me, you're having a panic attack"

I grabbed his arms as I gasped for breath, my vision turning blurry. Mom and Dad ran towards me but it only made me more anxious. Hendrix put an arm out to keep them away before taking me into the kitchen and sitting me down at the table.

"Hey, hey look at me" he said, kneeling down in front of me. He held my hands, squeezing them a little to get my attention. I calmed down a little, taking deep breaths the way he told me to.

"Thank you" I whispered, leaning my head against the chair. He stood up and kissed my head before getting me a glass of water.

HENDRIX'S POV:

"Here, drink this ma" I said, placing it on the table. I didn't want to hand it to her cause her hands were still shaking. I heard footsteps running around upstairs and sighed, looking at Trixie.

"Go check on Daisy" she said, taking a deep breath.

"I have a feeling it's about to get a lot worse, I don't want her to have to see all that, Hendrix"

"No I agree" I said, grabbing my keys "I'll drop her off at a friends house and come back?"

"Okay"

"You wanna come with?" I asked, she shook her head. I watched her put her head in her hands and pressed my lips together, quickly getting Daisy. I heard yelling coming from Trixie's parents bedroom but passed them. It wasn't my place to listen.

"Hi" said Daisy as I walked into the room "can we get ice cream? I'm bored"

"Ask Josie" I said, picking her up and carrying her out the room. I grabbed her jacket and shoes and left the house.

"Josie? But it's not Monday, today isn't a play date" she said as I strapped her into her car seat.

"Yeah well, things change" I said, closing the passenger door and getting into my side. I texted Josie that I was coming over with Daisy but there was no reply. She was probably annoyed with what happened the last time I saw her.

I couldn't care less. She wasn't Trixie.

-

"Come on, D" I said, holding her hand as I helped her out the car. She ran towards the door and knocked excitedly as I carried her sparkly pink backpack and coat.

"Hi Daisy" said Josie's Mom. She smiled at me as Daisy ran into the house.

"Hey Mrs Green" I said, handing her the coat and backpack.

"How are you, hun?" she asked, it was nice to see Josie wasn't in for once.

"I'm good, thanks" I said "I'm sorry about the last minute play date, something came up and I have to be there". She shook her head, waving a hand at me.

"Don't mention it, I love little Daisy" she said. I thanked her again before leaving swiftly. I rang Trixie to check on her but it went straight to voicemail. A bad feeling appeared in my gut as I pulled into her driveway.

I got out my car to see the all the other cars had gone from the driveway. Had Trixie left? Along with everyone else?

I got out my car and entered the house to see a huge mess. There was smashed glass in the hallway, a dent in the wall and there were clothes sprawled everywhere. Mattia's clothes.

I crept over the glass as I heard a voice coming from the kitchen.

"Don't be scared" it said.

"I'm actually great friends with your Dad, I'm Kyle"
