NARRATION: EARLIER

Olivia walked through the hallway, getting a text on her phone. She read that Hendrix, Daisy and Trixie were all home and safe. She smiled with relief before texting Mattia and Levi to get out the house.

"Mariaaa" she sang, kicking open the door to the kitchen as a soldier ran over to her.

Without flinching, she raised her gun, pulling the trigger and landing a bullet directly in his head.

"Light work" she mumbled, blowing the smoke coming out the top of her pistol. She stepped over the body and looked around. Empty. Was Maria purposely testing her? Asking for death?

She exited the kitchen as she heard a loud thud from upstairs. That was either Mattia landing on ground or someone engaging in a fight. And for the sake of her husband and son, she wished it was the first. She ran upstairs, kicking open the doors until she saw Alejandro and Levi fighting.

"Levi!" she shouted, pulling the trigger just as Levi pushed Alejandro against the wall.

He ran back to his Mother as she put a bullet in Alejandro's chest, just missing his heart. He gasped for breath as Maria walked in the room, her eyes going wide as she saw her husband on the floor.

"Window, now!" screamed Liv, pushing Levi. He bolted to the window, he was tall and they weren't far from the ground. Maria fumbled around for her gun as Levi held his Mom's hand as they jumped. They landed on the ground as Mattia appeared in the front doorway.

Liv peered through the kitchen windows to see Carlos lying on the ground, his eyes squeezed shut as he held onto his leg which had several bullet holes in it.

"Hurry up" a voice from inside. Liv looked around to see Mattia running out the house alongside him.

"Kairi!?" she screamed, running over and jumping into his arms. He embraced her, it had been so long. They pulled away and Liv had tears on her face.

"I-I thought you were dead" she whispered. But Kairi gave her a small smile.

"I don't die just like that, stupid"

She smiled at his remark as they walked over to Levi and Mattia.

"She's still in there" said Mattia, looking at the house. His voice was low, it was only the four of them since they'd sent their soldiers back to the house to protect the younger ones.

"I wanna kill them all" muttered Kairi "it's like they're fucking poisonous"

"Easy" said Mattia, placing a hand on his shoulder. Anyone could see how much Mattia had missed him. It was almost like he was whole again.

"Mom!" screamed Levi, jumping in front of her quickly. Liv was confused at first but before she even had time to think, two gunshots went off.

Except this time, they were in her sons' heart.

Not the arm, not the leg, not the stomach nor the thigh. Not even the head. But the heart, his sweet, innocent, pure heart.

Liv screamed as she watched her son's body jolt backwards as impact was made. Kairi ran forward to catch him as Mattia immediately started firing bullets at the window where Maria was stood. But the whole house went into lockdown, the windows were bullet proofed within a matter of seconds.

"No!" shrieked Liv, kneeling down beside her son, checking for a pulse and letting out a sob when she couldn't feel anything.

"Do something!" she screamed helplessly in Kairi's face. But he stared back at her, his eyes filling with tears as Mattia let out a scream, dropping to his knees.

"He can't be.." whispered Olivia, holding his face in hers "no he's my son he can't be.."

"I'm so sorry, Liv" said Kairi, holding onto her hand. Liv covered her mouth, struggling to breathe.

This was everything she'd never wanted.

Trixie had her head on Hendrix's shoulder when she heard the front door open. She glanced at the time.

2am.

Better later than never, she thought. She ran into the hallway, as happy as a child on Christmas morning. Hendrix followed her, quickly turning off the TV. But her smile vanished when she saw her Mother's face.

"Ma? What's going on?" she said slowly, watching her as she started to cry, followed by her Father who also looked as though she'd been crying.

"Dad?"

Her mind felt like a foreign land without any answers. Sirens started blaring in her head as she saw a stretcher being carried by soldiers outside.

"Where's..where's Lenny?" she said, her breathing starting to quicken as the familiar male she'd met earlier walked into her house. Hendrix covered his mouth as Trixie's face turned a shade of white.

"No" she said, nervously laughing "where's my Lenny? Where's my brother?" her voice started to get louder as her parents took her hands and lead her into the living room closing the door behind them.

Hendrix's leaned on the wall, his head in his hands as Kairi tried to comfort him. But there was only one person who could do that.

And right now, she was hurting in unimaginable ways. All he wanted to do was hold her, tell her everything would be okay. But even he was becoming uncertain about that.

He squeezed his eyes shut as Trixie screamed through tears, screaming for it not to be true.

No, no, no..

It was all he heard between gaps for breath. He wiped his eyes, wondering if there was any coming back from this. For anyone.

But all that was left? Five broken hearts.
