NARRATION
Hendrix walked outside the house, seeing Trixie sitting on the curb, head in her hands. He gently closed the front door, hoping she wouldn't be able to hear the screaming match going on inside.
"Hey" he said softly, taking a seat next to her. She wiped her eyes quickly, unable to look at him.
"Hi" she answered, taking a breath. He looked at her sympathetically, reaching forward and moving a strand of hair away from her face. But she flinched at his touch, tilting her head to a side.
"What's wrong, baby?" he asked.
"So much" she said dryly "where do I even start? my whole family is broken"
Hendrix laughed lightly, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her close "that makes two of us, I guess". Trixie laid her head on his shoulder, her eyes welling up with fresh tears.
"Hey, don't cry" he said, quickly wiping the tears as they fell "it'll be okay, Trix"
"No it won't" she said, shaking her head as she hesitated to say the next part. She looked up at Hendrix, the tears making her vision slightly blurry. He locked eyes with her, slowly growing nervous.
"What? What is it, Trix?"
"I was walking out the house and I saw it in the hallway" she said. Hendrix furrowed his eyebrows, tilting her face up at him as she burst into tears.
"Calm down, baby" he said "what'd you see?"
"Two plane tickets" she cried "to Florida. Mom's making me move with her and I don't think I'll ever see you again"
Hendrix wrapped both arms around her, her head in her chest as she sobbed uncontrollably. He felt his own eyes heating up but blinked them away as he tried to stay strong for her.
"Don't say that, Trix" his voice shaking as she gripped onto his hoodie "of course I'll see you again"
He knew he wouldn't. He knew that once they'd stepped foot out of Jersey, they'd never be back. He held onto her as he realised that today was probably their last day together.
"I can't do this" she said, pulling away "I can't hurt you, Hendrix"
"You're not hurting me" he said, letting out a nervous laugh as he shook his head. She took his hand, holding onto it with both of hers.
"Promise me" she said, he nodded quickly.
"Anything" he said, looking into her tear filled eyes as one slid down his face.
"You won't wait for me"
He pulled his hand away from hers, looking at her as if she was becoming delusional.
"What? No! How can you say that?"
"Please Hendrix" she wept "you can't spend your whole life being foolishly patient for something that'll never happen"
"No!" he cried "stop fucking talking like that when you know you're the only girl I want"
"Let me go, Hendrix" she said, taking his hand again "let me go and just live your life"
"How!?" he shouted "how the fuck do I live without you? Everything I do is for you, I can't even go a day without thinking about you"
"It'll never work" she said, tears sliding down both their faces. They knew there was no coming back.
"I love you, Trixie" he said, reaching out and cupping her face with one hand. She looked back at him, her heart hurting more by the second.
"Stop" she whispered. He shook his head. He was far too deep in to ever come back from this. Trixie heard the front door open and glanced behind her shoulder, seeing her Mom with two suitcases.
"No, please don't go" cried Hendrix, holding onto her hand as hers started shaking.
"Hendrix, I have to-"
"No you don't have to do anything" he said desperately. She pressed her lips together, tasting the salty tears on her lip.
She felt her heart almost snap as she pulled her hand away from his. It immediately became colder when it wasn't warm and safe in his. He cried and cried but nothing could change the fact that she was inevitably walking out of his life. Forever.
He stood up, wiping his eyes as he faced her. The whites of her eyes were slowly turning a faint red from all the crying.
"Don't forget about me?"
She fought back tears as she's placed a hand on the side of his face. He closed his eyes and leaned into it. She was standing in front of him yet he already missed her touch. She forced a smile for some kind of reassurance before answering him.
"Never"
