HENDRIX'S POV:

I tapped on the steering wheel lightly as we came to a red light. Trixie was holding onto her bag and staring straight ahead. The silence was depressing.

"You good?" I asked, looking over at her. She nodded her head at me, keeping her eyes on the road.

"You never told me what happened earlier" she said, her voice was shaking slightly and I could only assume that it was from what she just went through.

"Earlier?"

"When you called me sneaky" she said. I knew exactly what she was talking about but now wasn't the time because I wouldn't be able to keep my cool.

"Did you pack everything?" I asked, turning my gaze back to the road as I stepped on the gas.

"Stop changing the subject"

"I'm asking you-"

"And I'm telling you" she argued, raising her voice at me "tell me what happened earlier".

I pressed my lips together, parking up in the first space I found. Trixie stared at me in disbelief as I grabbed her bag out of her hands and got out the car. I heard Trixie following me after a few seconds, I really didn't want to have this conversation tonight.

"Hendrix!" she called after me. I bit my lip and walked into the hotel lobby, smiling at the receptionist.

"I've got a room booked under Rosario" I said as Trixie stood beside me. I could feel her glaring at me as the receptionist typed something into the computer before looking up at me.

"The deposit is $70" she said. I took out my card and paid before Trixie could say anything. She handed me a keycard and we made our way upstairs.

"This is us" I said, inserting the keycard into the door. Trixie snatched it out of my hands and took the bag away from me.

"No" she said "this is me, you can sleep out here till you figure out an explanation"

"I paid for the room" I said, snatching the bag back from her "you can sleep out here"

"Fine!" she shouted "hopefully your dumb fucking soldiers might come kill me or so god help me I'll do it myself". I was stunned for the most part until she turned away. I reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her back to me.

"Get off-"

Before she could finish her sentence, I turned her around, using one hand to hold her hands behind her back and the other to press her head against the wall.

"Never raise your voice at me like that again" I whispered into her ear. She breathed heavily as I took my hands off her and opened the door.

"Go" I said. She wanted to say something, she wanted to argue but her instincts told her no.

I walked in behind her and went to sit on a bed, taking out my phone. There were two new messages from Dad and one from Brooks.

Dad: I've got two soldiers going over to the Polibio house

Dad: The youngest should be dead in an hour

I rolled my eyes and looked over at Trixie who was looking through her bag for something.

Brooks: Where the fuck is Trixie?

Me: Imagine not knowing where your own girlfriend is. Embarrassing.

I turned my phone off and sighed, running a hand through my hair. Trixie went to change and came back in a short white dress. I watched her as she went through her bag and pulled out another bag except smaller with makeup in it.
