TRIXIE'S POV:
I woke up to Mom and Dad arguing downstairs. They'd been arguing a lot lately, it was worrying but nothing they couldn't ever fix.
I dragged myself out of bed and went to freshen up before going downstairs to a very awkward kitchen. Dad walked out and past me without batting an eyelid.
"Good morning to you too!" I called after him as he slammed their bedroom door shut. I rolled my eyes and walked into the kitchen to see Mom sitting at the table whilst our butler prepared breakfast. Levi walked in behind me, taking a seat opposite Mom.
"What was that about?" he asked as I took my usual seat next to Mom. She looked at me, taking a deep breath before she spoke.
"There's something called an annual Mafia ball-"
"No" interrupted Levi "she's not going"
"Let her explain" I said, waving my hand at Levi to stop him from cutting Mom off again. She glared at him before redirecting her gaze to me. She reached out, taking ahold of my hand which scared me slightly.
"It's one night where all the mafia's are under one roof. There's awards, dancing the whole lot. And the only rule is that no weapons are allowed-"
"But you broke that rule" interrupted Dad. I looked over to the doorway where he was stood with his arms folded across his chest. Mom narrowed her eyes at him as Levi looked between the two.
"You broke that rule?" he said, looking at Mom.
"Mar had the gun, not me" she said, looking at Dad. He shook his head, coming over to the table.
"It was all your fault though, it was always me saving you for some reason" he argued. I rolled my eyes and sat back in my seat letting them argue.
OLIVIA'S POV:
"My fault?!" I shouted, standing up. He shrugged walking over to the cabinets and getting a glass.
"Do you really want me to tell them how it all went down?" he asked, filling the glass up with alcohol. I scoffed, taking a bottle of wine out the refrigerator.
Levi walked over to Mattia, taking the glass from his hands and snatching the bottle away from me."Levi!" he yelled, trying to take the glass back. But he handed it to Trixie who kept it away from him.
"Whenever you drink, it ends in a screaming match so shut up both of you" he said. I pressed my lips together, leaning against the wall as Mattia reached for the glass from Trixie.
"You're not going" he said, walking out the room. I sighed and went to sit next to Trixie who was as confused as Levi.
"You're going" I said, watching her eyes go wide. She might've been scared of Mattia but I'd known him my whole life. He could never stay mad at me for that long.
"But he just-"
"If Levi gets to go every year, then so do you" I said firmly "I'll sort it all out, don't worry"
"When is it?" she asked.
"A few months" answered Levi "gives you both enough time to get a divorce which is exactly what Dad's going to look at once you betray him like this"
"What?" Trixie looked at me, full of fear. I clenched my jaw when Levi spoke, inciting unnecessary tension.
"No one's getting a divorce" I said, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze "you might wanna get your head outta your ass, Levi"
