NARRATION

Hendrix fumbled with his tie, struggling to correctly place the knot in the right place. His arms ached and he took off the tie, throwing it at the mirror in frustration.

He leaned on the sink, hanging his head as his vision became blurry with tears. And the worst part? He couldn't even fathom what he was upset about. Levi's death? Mattia not accepting him? Seeing Trixie at her weakest?

"I don't know" he whispered to himself, wiping his eyes as he heard the bathroom door opening.

"Shit was I taking too-"

He stopped speaking when he'd seen her. Her hair was curled perfectly, making it a little shorter than it actually was. Her makeup defining all her features as well as the dress presenting her curves in the most breathtaking ways.

The black lace stuck to her skin but it was so perfect on her. Perfect. It was the only word that could describe the way she looked to him.

"I-I was trying" he stuttered, holding his tie up as she smiled slowly, taking a few steps toward him.

"I know" she said softly, taking it and wrapping it around his neck. His gaze was fixated on her as she tied it properly, tucking it neatly into his waistcoat.

Black ties & black lace dresses for a funeral, you ask? Well, this wasn't just any ordinary funeral.

This was the funeral of one of the most respected men in the mafia business. He was the man who left his mark on everyone who crossed paths with him. The man they all strived to be like.

He was irreplaceable.

"It's going to be fine" whispered Hendrix as Trixie's eyes filled with tears. He quickly tilted her chin upwards, stopping the tears from ruining her makeup.

"Baby, do you really wanna do your makeup for a third time?" he asked.

She moved her head, shaking it slowly as she leaned on the sink for support. He stood in front of her, his hands on either side of her waist. Usually, he could read her like an open book.

But now? It felt as if she was a stranger.

There was a knock at the door and he took her hand, leaning forward and gently kissing her cheek. She took a breath, her hand starting to shake in his.

"Hey, hey look at me" he said, her glassy eyes meeting hers "I'm here with you, okay?"

She nodded, her bottom lip quivering as they walked to her bedroom door. Hendrix opened it slowly, a soldier with puffy eyes on the other side.

Trixie recognised him immediately and burst into tears all over again. She ran over to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as he hugged her back, stone faced, trying to control himself. But the flashback was racing through Trixie's head.

MONTHS AGO

"So you were out with a boy?" asked Levi, a small smirk growing on his face as he stood opposite his younger sister in the hallway.
