TRIXIE'S POV:
I hugged my knees to my chest, staring at the room around me. I wanted to scream but instead I'd spent the past few days crying. Had everyone forgotten about me? Were they even looking? Mom? Hendrix?
A soldier entered the room with a tray of food, placing it on the bed before walking out again. I stayed completely still, I hadn't eaten since I'd got here. My stomach ached but there was no way I was going anywhere near food that had gone past Brooks. I was still in disbelief.
He was one of my longest friends. Well, at least I thought he was. But instead I'd just been letting him figure out different ways to kill me. I felt my eyes heating up as the door opened again.
"You're not hungry?"
I kept my eyes on the ground as Brooks walked in, closing the door behind him. He sat opposite me and spoke about bullshit that I was too zoned out of to listen to. It was all he'd been doing these past few days. Coming in, talking and then leaving me.
"Do you miss your family?" he asked, catching my attention. I raised my head a little, looking at him.
"Suck my dick"
"You don't have one" he smirked, moving closer to me "unless you want me to check". I moved back till I hit the wall but he reached out for me.
"Don't fucking touch me" I shouted, standing up. He stood up too but quickly grabbed my arms and pushed me against the wall. If Hendrix did this, it would be different. There's be a smirk on my face instead of shooting pains going through my arms.
Why the fuck was I even thinking of him? He'd obviously found some kind of replacement by now.
"Thinking about him, aren't you?"
Brooks' face was so close to mine that I could feel his hot breath on my skin. It made me want to throw up.
"I am" I said, looking him in the eyes.
"I'm thinking about his lips on my body and his hands on my hips and me screaming his-"
"Enough!" he yelled, making me jump and squeeze my eyes shut. His hands went to my shirt and he tried to take it off.
"No!" I screamed, kicking him as hard as I could but I didn't even make a dent. I was so involved in trying to get him away from me that I didn't even notice the bedroom door opening again.
A gunshot went off and I screamed when I saw the blood on my clothes. But the bullet was in Brook's leg. He dropped to the ground, holding it with both hands and shrieking in pain. I covered my mouth with my hand and looked to the door to see a tall woman in a black suit glaring down at him.
"Get out"
I was too stunned to speak back and bolted out the room and downstairs.
HENDRIX'S POV:
"I'm sure it's round this corner" I said, walking down a street with Levi. We managed to find Brooks' address but there turned out to be four so we were at the last one since the others were dead ends.
I checked my phone to make sure we were on the right track. Levi let out a dramatic sigh as we crossed the road.
"If you're fucking around-"
"Lenny!"
We both looked in the direction of the scream and saw Trixie running towards us. My eyes went wide when I saw the blood on her clothes, it made me stop where I was. She looked so hurt. Mentally hurt.
I knew I'd get probably get shot if I went to hug her so I stayed still as Levi ran to her, wrapping his arms around her.
"What the fuck happened to you?" he cried. She tried to speak but she was shivering so he quickly took off his zip up jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. She noticed me, only causing her eyes to tear up. I couldn't be here, I'd probably caused enough damage to her already.
"I'm gonna go" I said. Levi took no notice and kept his eyes on Trixie who was looking at me. I gave her a small smile before turning to walk away.
TRIXIE'S POV:
I watched him walk away as Levi hugged me. There was a tear sliding down my cheek as he glanced back to me. He smiled before doing the phone signal. I nodded, pulling away from Levi.
"Let's go home" he said "everyone's worried sick". I nodded, holding onto his hand as we walked down the street.
"You haven't done that since you were eight" he laughed, looking down at our hands.
"I'm scared" I whispered. He let go of my hand and wrapped it around my shoulders, pulling me next to him as we walked.
"As long as I'm here, that will never happen again"
We kept walking, talking about anything other than the last 48 hours. He felt guilty for what had happened, he always did whenever it was about me.
"Thanks for being there, Lenny"
He gently hit me over the head, I smiled back at him.
"Why are you so annoying? My name is Levi, we've been through this several times"
"Oh I know" I said "I just don't care".
"Shut up" he rolled his eyes "you should know something though. Hendrix was actually the one to figure out where you were"
I stayed quiet, not wanting to smile at his name.
"And to think we all liked the Brooks kid. I didn't even know he was part of a fucking mafia"
"But what'd you think of Hendrix?" I asked. He looked at me strangely before shrugging his shoulders.
"I still want him dead along with his whole family"
I felt a shiver go down my spine as we approached my front door. I might be able to help Hendrix manage with this toxic lifestyle but Lenny? Never.
He was in too deep. Deep enough to drown in it.
