No one's POV.:
The maknae had gone to bed early the previous day because of his low-grade fever. Nobody had been thinking about it too much, knowing Jeongin had probably just pushed himself too hard and would be fine with some rest. They had told him to sleep well and not to get sick to which he had replied: "I won't hyungies, don't worry. I just need some sleep." Part of that was true, he really did need sleep. The other part turned out to be a lie, he did get sick. Whether it was just a bad cold or maybe even the flu, none of them knew. All they knew was, their youngest wouldn't not leave the dorm to go along with the vocal line schedule that day. The maknae didn't even remember who came to wake him that morning, he only remembered the hand on his forehead and the voice telling him to stay in bed because he wouldn't have a schedule that day. Their schedule for the day was different for the vocal, rap and dance lines of the group but the vocal line would be able to handle it without their youngest present. The dance line was tasked with making the choreography for one of their songs and being as hardworking as they were, they were done already since they had choreographed it for fun in their free time a while ago. That's why Hyunjin and Felix were quick to convince Chan to let them stay back, so they could take care of Jeongin, while Minho decided to go to the practice room anyways. He wanted to learn the choreo enough to be able to teach it to the rest of the group. Chan agreed, especially because he knew that the trio formed a sort of family. Felix and Jeongin were both age regressors who referred to each other as brothers when in their headspace. Hyunjin was their caregiver.
Hyunjin and Felix had breakfast together and let Jeongin sleep in. Despite having time off, Felix didn't regress because he wanted to take care of his sick friend. They doubted the maknae would be little because he wasn't little when he went to bed. However, they were wrong. Apparently, the stress of being sick had taken its toll on the youngest and he found himself clutching his blanket as he dragged it with him to the living room while tears ran down his face. The little hated waking up alone and to make matters worse, he didn't feel well. Hearing the soft sniffles and shuffling footsteps, his friends rushed over. Hyunjin could tell by the way Jeongin was clutching the edges of his fluffy blanket, one of his most important comfort items in little space, in front of his chest, that their maknae wasn't in his adult mindset. The caregiver was quick to scoop him up and gently swayed from one side to the other with his little cradled against his chest. They stood like this till the youngest's tears stopped falling and Felix was watching them curiously. "Feel icky", the little whimpered, clutching Hyunjin's shirt. The dancer hushed him by whispering sweet nothings into his ear and continuing to rock him in his arms. Felix however, was a goner as soon as he heard Jeongin's little voice. There was an unwritten rule, stating that none of them slipped without the other. When one of them regressed, the other would automatically slip too. That was just how their dynamics worked and despite Felix putting up a huge fight to stay big and care for his friend, he slipped in seconds.
Hyunjin was used to caring for two littles at the same time. It had never posed a problem but he had also never had to care for a sick little. "Lixxie, how about you turn on the TV and start some cartoons while I feel Innie his breakfast?", the dancer asked and the little jumped on the couch turning on his favorite cartoon, giggling along and imitating the sound effects. Hyunjin sat Innie down next to his brother because he knew how much the little hated to be alone, while he went to the kitchen to get a glass of apple sauce and a spoon. It took the caregiver a lot of prodding to convince the maknae of eating at least a few spoons. The youngest had no appetite at all and his stomach didn't feel to happy either, so Hyunjin hated himself for forcing his baby to eat. He did have the best intentions though, the little couldn't take medicine on an empty stomach and he really did need medicine. "You did so good, sweetheart. Let's get you some medicine to make you feel less icky", the caregiver praised and carried the little to the bathroom. Jeongin didn't even complain about having to take medicine or the bitter taste. He just accepted it and cuddled back into the older's arms, who was only now realizing exactly how awful the maknae must feel. The Aussie was still engulfed in his cartoon, so Hyunjin took Jeongin to bed, gently wrapping him in his fluffy blanket. Laying down next to the little, the dancer sang softly till the youngest's eyes fluttered shut and he could hear soft congested snores.
