Sickie: Felix

Caregiver: Seungmin + Jeongin

No one's POV.:
The three youngest members of Stray Kids had had to get up earlier than the rest of the group today and the Aussie didn't like it at all. He was supposed to work on his vocals more, so for the first part of the day, the two younger members would be practicing with him. After lunch they'd have a dance practice with the entire group. Being the most responsible out of the three, it was Seungmin's task to wake his friends and while Jeongin immediately got up without much complaint, Felix was a different story. Luckily, Seungmin wasn't only responsible but also merciless and when pulling his blanket away didn't work, he just got some water and splashed it into the dancer's face. Now, the older was wide awake and sulkily trudged to the bathroom. He was forced to get ready in a rush because his two dongsaengs were already done getting ready. Right after Felix had forced his breakfast down, Seungmin dragged him out of the dorm. This morning already went completely against his liking but hopefully the rest of the day would be better. At least they'd be dancing in the afternoon, that should put him in a better mood.

Felix unhappily trudged behind his dongsaengs on the way to the studio. How could they be so awake already? Mornings were just not his time and they never would be. Now that he was forced out of bed, he tried to make the best of it, reminding himself that he wouldn't even be doing a tiring task. Singing wasn't tiring, was it? The Aussie soon had to learn just how tiring singing could be. They had made it to the studio and settled in for the next few hours they'd be spending there. Their warm up was pretty similar to how they warmed up their voices before a performance, so no problem there. When they started really singing though, Felix started to struggle. This wasn't singing like he knew it because the two vocalists were also paying attention to the technique. To Felix singing was just that, singing, but Seungmin and Jeongin did it a lot more, so they had to use the right technique, otherwise they'd hurt themselves. Now the two of them were trying to teach their friend the right technique but never having paid close enough attention to how it felt when he sung, the Aussie started to struggle. Singing was far less fun when you were only doing ridiculous exercises instead of actually singing a song and being constantly interrupted after a single line really sucked. Of course the younger two had to step in when they noticed the older making mistakes or using the wrong technique to ensure he wouldn't memorize the mistakes and Felix understood that but it didn't mean he enjoyed it.

Whether it was because he really wanted to be anywhere but at this studio or because he was tired, he didn't know but his mind kept wandering to different places, making it impossible for the Aussie to focus. The ceiling lights created fascinating shapes in his vision, distracting him further. He never knew simple lamps like that could glow in that many colors and reflecting this way all across the room. They had been in this room before, yet he had never noticed this phenomenon. "Come on, I know it sucks but you need to focus, we won't get anywhere with this practice if you're not in it with your full attention", Seungmin sighed, forcing the older out of his thoughts. Felix nodded but commented: "Sorry, I just never realized how fascinatingly the ceiling lights create shapes and stuff. It's really fascinating but yeah, I'll pay more attention." Frowning, Seungmin and Jeongin made eye contact. They were always at this studio for practice and never had they noticed whatever their friend was talking about. Even now, they didn't see any weird shapes or anything. "Are you okay? I don't see the lights doing anything funny?", Jeongin questioned, looking around the room again. Felix nodded, mumbling: "Never mind, let's continue." How could they not see it? Reminding himself that they had more important things to worry about than whether the light was reflecting in funny ways or not, Felix brought his focus back to singing. Getting this right was certainly more important.

After almost two hours of practice, they allowed themselves to take a break. They still had three hours left before having lunch and heading to the dance room. Putting his water bottle down, Seungmin asked: "Hey, do you still see funny things in here?" Felix furrowed his brows. He hadn't paid attention to it anymore but now that it was pointed out, he had to admit that whatever reflections he had seen earlier were gone now. The Aussie shook his head but soon stopped as the movement hurt his head. Great, getting up this early hadn't failed to give him a headache. The headache didn't let up in the slightest when they continued to practice. He had been looking forward to dancing later but now he was dreading it. Felix tense expression didn't go unnoticed by his dongsaengs but they figured he'd speak up if something was wrong. He did think about speaking up but it was only a headache, so he remained quiet and tried to focus. As the pain got worse, focusing became increasingly difficult. The lights hurt his eyes and as beautiful as his friends' voices were, they were way too loud for his liking.
