Sickie: Hyunjin
Caregiver: Felix
No one's POV.:
After reading a bunch of insensitive comments during one of his vlives, Hyunjin had started to act differently around his friends. Apparently, some people thought the only reason he had made it into the group were his looks, as that was the only thing people considered remarkable about him. When he was younger, he had been taught that it was a compliment if someone liked your looks but to Hyunjin it hadn't been a compliment in a long time. It meant that all his efforts to prove himself in other fields like dancing, rapping or singing hadn't paid of at all. It meant that he was good for nothing, no matter how hard he worked to improve himself, it felt like it was never enough. He had spent so many hours practicing his dance and had felt proud to show his improvement in his vlive, covering multiple choreographies by other artists too. Somehow, only little people shared his enthusiasm, as many comments pointed out he was ruining the original and should just stop. Hyunjin felt heartbroken. He had never meant to ruin anything or disrespect any artist by covering their songs. After dancing for hours day and day again, leaving his muscles burning, he had felt himself ready to show the world but apparently that had been a mistake.
Since some of the comments claimed, Stray Kids were only dragging him along because of his looks and not because he was contributing anything to their work, Hyunjin felt bad around his members. He had always been dependent on the love he received by his family and friends but now he considered himself as dependent on their hard work and success too, as he was nothing if it wasn't for the others being successful and keeping him in the group because of his looks. For some time, Hyunjin thought about giving up because he already put in so much work to improve and it had all been for nothing. He didn't think he could work even harder to prove himself. There was one thing he had to realize though. He couldn't just leave the group, so he wouldn't burden the other members anymore. For that, he just loved his new-found family too much and didn't know what he'd be without them. Just following along with them didn't seem right either as he'd be free-loading on their success, so Hyunjin accepted there was nothing he could do other than work harder, sleep less and prove himself worthy of his position in the group.
As Hyunjin tried to come up with a plan on how to prove himself, he started to have an even harder time. What could he possibly prove himself with? Minho was their best dancer and there was no way, he'd ever be better than his hyung. Changbin was their best rapper, while Hyunjin's rap was mediocre at best, at least in his own eyes. He wasn't too confident in his singing either and with Seungmin as their main vocalist, why should he even try? Working on improving all of them would also be of little help as Jisung already was the allrounder. Hyunjin had written some songs, though he only showed a few of them as there was no way he could compete with 3racha. Maybe the comments had been right, there was nothing special about him other than his looks.
Although Hyunjin didn't find anything in particular that he wanted to improve, concluding that he needed to fix everything as there was no aspect about him that was enough, he had come up with a gruesome two-month plan. For two months, he'd work on everything and try to improve as much as humanly possible. If he was enough by the end of those two months, he'd stay in the group and continue to work hard. If it wasn't enough, he'd have to talk to their manager and JYP to inform them that he was leaving the group, so Stray Kids wouldn't have to live with the unnecessary burden that he was. Since he only had two months, Hyunjin dove right in, adding an additional hour of vocal practice in the morning before their schedule. That way, he might be able to improve his vocal range and intonation, plus, his voice would already be warmed up and he'd sound better when talking to people. After their schedule, he'd go back to the practice room to dance. It didn't matter if they had already been dancing all day, he'd still continue to the point he could barely stay on his feet. Most members were incredibly fit, so he'd also try to squeeze in one or two additional gym sessions per week.
