No one's POV.:
The clock was nearing six in the morning and Chan officially gave up on trying to sleep. He had spent the past four hours drifting in and out of consciousness but unable to stay asleep for long. The leader had caught a cold about a week before and although his nose had cleared and his fever had gone down, the cough had persisted. That was also the reason he couldn't really sleep. At some point during the night, he had moved from his bed to the couch, so he wouldn't keep his roommates up. The couch wasn't the most comfortable, especially considering how achy his muscles were already, but he didn't feel too comfortable in his bed either. His head hurt and his chest ached from all the coughing he had done over the past week. They'd have to get up soon anyway, so Chan shuffled to the kitchen and made himself a cup of tea before turning on the TV on a low volume. Maybe he'd find a show that could distract him from his discomfort a bit, though that seemed unlikely given the early morning hour. As he waited for his tea to cool a bit, he switched channels again and again before giving up on trying to find something interesting. As he reached for his phone that he had abandoned on the coffee table, his breath caught in his throat and he doubled over with another coughing fit. Chan pressed a hand to his chest as his ribs ached and he slowly ran out of breath. Why did it hurt so much? Even after the coughing tapered off, he struggled to catch his breath. He had mostly gotten over his cold, so why did he feel so much worse than he had felt a few days ago? Chan leaned back on the couch, resting his heavy head against the backrest. He just wanted to sleep.

Apparently, he had managed to fall asleep, if only for a few minutes, because the next time he opened his eyes, Seungmin was standing in front of him. "Good morning, hyung", the younger beamed. Not understanding how people could be so awake in the morning, Chan grumbled a tired: "Morning." He scrubbed at his face and patted his cheeks to wake himself up, earning a light laugh from his dongsaeng. What wouldn't he give to be a morning person like him. His thoughts were cut off by a cough, that left him even more winded than before. Seungmin picked up the cup of tea on the coffee table, wanting to hand it to his hyung but realized the cup was completely cold to the touch. "Do you want me to make you another one? This one has gone cold", he frowned, as Chan was catching his breath. The older shook his head and forced himself to stand up. Making his way to the kitchen, he hummed: "Need coffee." – "I don't think coffee will help your cough, hyung. The better option would really be tea", Seungmin commented, following the leader to the kitchen. Chan gave him a frustrated glare and snapped: "Tea isn't going to get me through today, coffee is."

Not wanting to argue with his hyung, the younger started to lay the table, so they'd be able to eat as soon as everyone was up. He also fried some eggs while watching Chan sip his coffee. The leader was tiredly slouched against the kitchen counter, looking paler than usual. Did he even sleep? "Hyung, you slept alright last night?", Seungmin asked, keeping his eyes trained on the pan in front of him as he tried to sound casual. The older shrugged, humming: "I guess I did sleep a bit." – "You stayed up all night coughing again?", the younger figured, studying Chan's reaction. The older seemed taken a back and after a sip of his coffee, he mumbled: "I mean, not the entire night?" – "Seriously, you should see a doctor", Seungmin frowned shaking his head at the older. Instead of answering, Chan just put his cup down and braced his arm against the kitchen counter as his body shook with another cough. Then there was a hand on his back but when he looked up, Seungmin was still standing at the stove a few feet away from him. "You were up early today, mate", came Felix' deep voice from behind him. He couldn't answer as he was still too out of breath to speak and Felix didn't give him a chance to, already commenting: "You look and sound rough, sure you still don't want to get a check-up?" – "It's just a cough", Chan forced out, breathing heavily. His two dongsaengs looked at each other and rolled their eyes but dropped the topic because the rest of the members joined them for breakfast.
