Sickie/Little: Seungmin

Caregiver: Hyunjin

Requested by:

No one's POV.:
With the preparations for their next comeback, Stray Kids' schedules were often split into their three sections: production-line, dance-line and vocal-line. They were certainly more productive this way but they also missed each other a lot, since they barely spent any time together. For some members it was tougher than for others. For Seungmin it might have been the most difficult. The vocalist was a little and especially during times like comeback preparations, he needed his headspace more than ever. The problem was, he hadn't told his members about his little secret yet and the only one who knew was Hyunjin, who was also Seungmin's caregiver. With both of them having different schedules, the dancer was too busy to also monitor his little's regressions. He thought Seungmin would just occasionally slip in the evenings, if he needed to. What Hyunjin hadn't considered however, was how shy his dongsaeng was about his littlespace. After Hyunjin became his caregiver, Seungmin didn't feel safe slipping when the caregiver wasn't around.

Not slipping meant his body existing in a permanent state of stress and it was only a matter of time till he'd have to pay the price. With his immune system weakening by the day, Seungmin was destined to catch something at some point and eventually he did. One morning it took him a bit longer to wake up than usual but it was only natural considering how tired he was. During the vocal practice with Jeongin, his throat had started to ache a little and at the end of the day his voice sounded a little strained. He simply made himself some tea and went to bed early, hoping it was just a fluke and he'd be fine the next day. However, he wasn't. The next morning, he woke up with his nose stuffed up and his mind feeling foggy. A slight rasp accompanied his words and after taking forever to drag him out of bed, Jeongin decided the pair would be working at the dorm. By the time, the vocal-line was ready to get started, the rest of the group was already gone. Seungmin made himself some tea and they sat down on the couch with lyric sheets littering the coffee table. The only one singing was Jeongin, who kept telling his hyung to shut up, every time the older attempted to join him.

Seungmin was frustrated with his achievements of the day, not having practiced a single line. At least he had memorized their lyrics well by reading over them an uncountable number of times and listening to his dongsaeng sing them. They finished an hour before the rest of the group returned to the dorm. Jeongin cleared the coffee table and neatly sorted the papers while Seungmin lay on the couch, completely wiped from barely doing anything. Staring at the tiny printed lyrics had made his eyes water and had turned the dull pressure in his head into something more vicious. When the others came home and saw they were done long before the rest of the group, although they started later than the rest, Chan wanted to collect the two maknaes and give them a talk about the effort they were putting into their work. Jeongin saw the disappointed look on the leader's face and quickly pulled him to his room before he could approach Seungmin. The youngest explained that the other vocalist was slowly falling ill, which they couldn't afford this close to a comeback, and that they have been working as much as possible.

Chan accepted this excuse, especially when he observed Seungmin during dinner and it was clear the younger wasn't really himself. He didn't want to intervene quite yet, though Seungmin was only the second youngest, he was better at taking care of himself than most of the members. Hyunjin too noticed something was off about his dongsaeng and after both of them showered, he went to check on him in privacy: "Hey, Min. Are you doing alright? You've been a bit pretty quiet during dinner." The younger knew not to lie to his caregiver but he also didn't want give away the whole truth. "Ah. I might be coming down with a cold or have been singing too much lately. My throat's a bit raw but I had some tea and should be fine", he smiled but let the dancer cuddle him to sleep anyways. They haven't had this in a long time.
