It had been a few months since the group had found out about the maknae's being littles. Hyunjin had accidentally walked in on the maknae-line having a play date in Jisung's and Jeongin's shared room. He was pretty confused at first but the littles had decided to call a family meeting in which they explained their situation to their hyungs to avoid confusing and stressful situations like the one with Hyunjin in the future. They were accepting from the very beginning though they didn't really understand it, the phrases 'tool to handle stress and anxiety' and 'escape from the pressure' were enough for them to see it having a positive effect on their friends, so it couldn't possibly be a bad thing, could it? It only made sense, especially the younger ones had given up a vital part of their childhood to train, some still going to school even after they already debuted, juggling work-life and exams at the same time. Of course, they would be yearning to the earlier years of their lives, the lightheartedness and the freedom. It was fair to say, all the hyungs could see why the youngers had created themselves a save headspace but it wasn't until Felix had first slipped in front of them, that they understood what age regression really meant. The sunshine of the group needed a split second to capture his hyungs' hearts. Giggles filling the dorm and the Aussie koala-cuddling everyone who got even remotely close, there would have been no one able to resist the dancer's cuteness. Especially to Chan it came as a relieve, since he had to watch his Aussie-brother grow more serious and reserved with each of their comebacks. Now, in a matter of minutes, the worries in his eyes had disappeared and the posture of his shoulders seemed a lot more relaxed.

Chan was Felix' very first caregiver while the others only occasionally took care of one of the littles, should one of them happen to slip around them. As time passed and the maknae-line grew more comfortable around their hyungs, it happened more frequently that all of them slipped at the same time. In the beginning one or two would stay big to help and explain how to take care of the littles but once they felt like the hyung-line had gotten the hang of it, they trusted the olders to care for them well. Having to look after four littles at the same time, it only made sense for one hyung to take care one little. There were no fix pairings at first, mixing the pairs up every time someone slipped. Overtime and after lots of talks, it was figured out which pairings clicked the best. Changbin took Chan's role as Felix' caregiver, while the leader settled for taking care of the groups maknae. Given that Hyunjin and Seungmin already had a crush on each other, it was obvious that Hyunjin would be taking care of the younger. That left Minho to take care of Jisung, who managed to bring out his hyung's soft side.

Suddenly having someone to take care of them, the headspaces changed significantly for the maknae-line. No longer did they have the headspace age range they were previously used to. The way their caregivers treated them suddenly had an influence on their mental age. The more they felt like they could let their defense down and the more the hyungs babied them, the younger they would slip. Some even experienced babyspace for the first time. Jisung and Felix were the most energetic littles, which often got them into trouble. Seungmin was a quiet and sweet boy, who could spend hours just listening to Hyunjin reading him a story. Jeongin was a walking paradox, some days sweet and clingy, some days insisting on his independence as a big boy but coming back seconds later to ask Chan to open his open the packaging of a snack for him.

Often getting in trouble, Jisung and Felix often got scolded by their caregivers, who made sure the youngers would take responsibility for their actions. As a result, the headspace ages of the pair soon settled in a higher range, where they could control their energy a lot better. Being of an older headspace age, Minho and Changbin, treated them accordingly, which was sadly not as soft as the littles were craving. They soon struggled to slip far enough to actually get a relieve out of it and stopped regressing for weeks at a time. Nobody really paid them much mind because, being still inexperienced, none of the caregivers knew how unhealthy it was for a little to neglect their headspace. Seemingly not really needed by their littles anymore, Minho and Changbin soon turned to caring for the two youngest members as some form of secondary caregivers, should Chan and Hyunjin be busy. It wasn't long for Jisung and Felix to realize that the other was facing the same struggle as himself. The two avoided the dorms, any time one of their friends slipped, their hearts not able to handle the jealousy. Instead, they'd spend off-days, which were originally their little days, going shopping or visiting a cinema together, trying to pass as much time as possible away from the dorm. It was especially hard on Jisung, who couldn't relax while being out in public. The only way Felix could cheer him up was by taking him to a café at the end of their day and treating him to cheesecake.
