Time skip to the third year for y/n and the gang at UA high school. The Big Three hierarchy had to be changed to the Big Four because of Class 1-a so that's how it is now. The top four students are y/n, Katsuki, Izuku, and Shoto. This chapter is about the last round of the third year sports festival. Everyone is now 17-18 yrs old.
Y/n POV
"This food is so friggin good!" Mina was very much enjoying the festival food as we waited for the third round to start. I feel her cuz this is the last time we're going to get this. We've come a long way since first year and we've all grown exponentially.
"If you keep stuffing your face you're gonna end up in a food coma before the final event," my angry boyfriend pointed out. Mina flipped him off and I laughed cuz it was funny. Katsuki glared at the both of us. He was right though. They hadn't told us what the third event was so we didn't really know how to prepare ourselves.
When lunch was over, the remaining of us contestants went back onto the field to get directions from our proctor. This year again it was Midnight, unlike last year when we got Hound Dog. That was an experience. She smiled at all of us as the ground began to shake and shatter, separating us as smoke bombs went off.
"There are 20 of you contestants left. The final event is a Battle Royale!! The boundaries of the ring are marked with white paint. Defeat your opponents by pushing them out and be the last person standing to win. Begin!!" Some people had seriously fast reflexes because all the emitter type quirks were being fired off through the smoke.
That means some people landed directly next to other people. Fortunately I was lucky and wasn't in close proximity of anyone. I could hear the explosions from the other side of the ring. So let's go the other way. I moved cautiously, using my seismic sense to see through the smoke. I felt a vibration and then vines attacked me head on.
"Shiozaki, what a nice surprise," I said as I rolled out of the way of the vines. I jerked my fist up, lifting a piller of earth from under her feet but she went with the momentum and landed to the side of me. Her vines attacked me again and I made a flame whip to slice them and keep them away from me. Thanks again Katsuki for the gloves.
The smoke was starting to clear now and I could see the ring demarcations were about 6 feet behind her. One of her vines slipped past my fire and cut my face. Oh yeah there are thorns on those. I sighed and rolled my hands to form an air ball. I added a little fire just to add some ✨ razzle dazzle✨.
I had gotten a lot better at using multiple elements at once so that it didn't wear me out. I threw the ball at her, controlling it up until it hit her so it wouldn't get knocked off course by her vines. I hit her in the gut and she went flying out of the ring. I didn't have time to celebrate because a punch came flying at me. I dodged and faced my new opponent. I smirked.
What fun this is going to be...
Shoto POV
The smoke on my side hadn't cleared yet so I didn't want to use a giant ice attack to let people know where I was. I kept the attacks small and controlled knocking out two people who decided to gang up on me. I heard explosions from somewhere and thought it best to stay away from there. He's never been the subtle one.
Ojiro tried to pull a sneak attack on me but I managed to keep my distance after getting brutally smacked in the gut by his tail. I realized I had really left myself open and I couldn't do that when using short range attacks.
Note to self, ask y/n for more hand to hand combat lessons...
Katsuki POV
"Damn extras.." I mumbled under my breath. I bet Cementoss put me around more people on purpose. Which probably means that y/n, Half and Half, and Deku are alone on the other side having things the easy way.
