Ch 64: Full Bloom

Y/n POV

It was a slow work day. Katsuki and Kirishima were out on patrol and Mina and I had just returned. Sun was shining, birds were singing, kids were at school, and Tokyo was peaceful.

Until the alarm went off. The alarm was only sounded throughout the office when it was a large and serious emergency. Miki ran in out of breath and held my arm. 

"Mrs. Avatar, come quick!" She said and pulled me towards the surveillance room. All the screens were tuned into the same emergency. 

"There's a hostage situation at the school. The man has released most of the children but he still has two of them and is threatening to kill them if heroes don't show up soon." Mina placed her hand on my shoulder. 

"That's...." I nodded and started leading her out of the room.

"Yeah that's my kids' school."

Katsuki POV

"Something's wrong," I said to Kirishima as we turned a corner on the streets of the Shinagawa district. He looked at me confused.

"What do you mean? It's beautiful out and there hasn't been a crime all day," he said with his dumb toothy smile. My gut's never wrong.

My phone vibrated and I took it out to see it was Pinky. I asked Kirishima why his wife was calling me and he shrugged. I answered.

"Dynamite listen. There's a hostage situation going down at the school your kids go to. Avatar and I are headed there now we need you to get over here and let Deku and Shoto know too," she rambled. I was in shock for a split second before I answered her.

"Got it." I hung up and started dialing Deku as I ran. Kirishima followed me and he heard the explanation I gave Deku so he was caught up. 

Kitaro, Nyoko, daddy's coming to get you....

Y/n POV

Mina and I arrived at the scene seeing the police around and the kids still huddled with Yamane. I ran over to her while Mina was checking with the police. Most of the kids were shaken up but none of them looked hurt. Toyokazu noticed me and pulled on Yamane's sleeve.

"Mrs. Avatar, I'm so sorry, I tried to take them with us but he threatened to kill them if we didn't leave..." she said remorsefully. I nodded and pat her shoulder.

"I don't blame you. Just can you give me a description of the man," I asked her calmly. She nodded and started speaking.

"He had olive skin, green eyes, and brown hair," she told me and I gasped.

"Yuki!" I told her to stay with the kids and the police and that I was going in. I walked up to the building and used my seismic sense to feel out where they were inside. Second floor. 

I ran up the stairs, confident the information I had would be enough to save my kids. I sprinted through the second floor and came to the room I knew they were in. 

I should've known they would've come back. They told me they wanted my kids and I did nothing. I'm such an idiot!

I knocked on the door and spoke through it, readying a flame in my right hand.

"Yuki, it's Avatar. Let me in right now and give me the children," I said evenly. I heard rustling from inside and then the door opened. I stepped inside and my anger rose.

Kitaro was tied up upside down, I'm guessing so he couldn't use his explosion quirk. And Nyoko was tied up on the other side of the room, her hands facing her so that if she exploded, she'd burn herself.
