Part 8

James walked out of the castle and headed to the shore.

He breathed in the slightly humid air and took in the scenery. The forbidden forest was dark as always and the black lake stretched out to fill in the space between the castle and the gates.

He noticed a pair of robes by the lake and stopped. He raised his eyebrows and peered into the lake.

He looked into it and spotted a person swimming around the center.

He squinted to see who it was but couldnt quite make it out.

" wait doesnt sev go swimming? Is that him?" James said quietly.

He looked down at the neatly folded robes and nodded.

" yep its him. Oi! Sev!" He shouted, waving his arm.

The figure stopped swimming and floated their head to the surface.

They swam closer to shore and stood up. Sure enough it was severus.

His shoulder length hair slicked back as he ran his hands through it and smiled.

James smiled softly and swayed on his heels. Severus grinned wider and came closer.

" hey. What are you doing here?" Severus asked.

" i was just taking a walk. Are you sure its safe to swim here? You wont get eaten?" James raised an eyebrow. Severus chuckled and shook his head.

He grabbed his wand and conjured up a towel to use for his hair.

" i put it under a sleeping spell. It wont be awake for another hour. Right now it is blissfully sleeping at the bottom of the lake so no worries." Severus reassured.

James nodded and sighed in relief.

" well if you want to keep swimming you can keep doing that."

" nah im okay. I was just trying to pass time. How come you're not at lunch?"

" oh i got bored. Just came here."

" hmmm. Wanna take a walk with me?"

" sure." James perked up. Severus nodded and did a quick drying spell.

He put on his white button down and lazily tied his tie loosely around his neck.

" turn around." Severus ordered. James raised an eyebrow.

" oh so you can see me without pants and i cant?"

" will you just turn around?"

" wha- thats so unfair!"

" seriously do you wanna see me without pants THAT bad?"

" i mean i guess we could make it even-"

" TURN AROUND." Severus yelled. James smirked and rolled his eyes.

" fine. Your no fun ." James said and turned around.

He heard severus click his tongue and change.

" ok done." Severus said. James turned around and saw severus putting in his belt.

" hmmm black trunks. I would've thought you'd at least wear color while swimming."

" black IS a color." Severus furrowed his brows.

" yeah but you wear black all the time, its nothing special."

" shut up. Black looks good, its my thing."

" your thing is being a brooding asshole thats what."
