Part 25

James awoke with a start.

He frantically looked around. He wasnt in his room and this DEFINITELY wasnt his bed.

He was in the room of requirements still. He must have fallen asleep there. He made a quick tempus charm to show the time.

6:30

It was still early.

James yawned, stretching his arms and standing up. There wasnt a bathroom in the room so he had to go all the way back to his dorms to get ready.

As he was about to leave, he noticed a letter sitting on the side table of the bed.

He picked it up, confused and a little worried.

He ripped open the delicate white paper with the black stamp not so elegantly.

He unfolded it and it read:

James.

Make sure to be at breakfast this morning.

S.S

The tone was different than usual but at least severus was communicating with him. That at least got him going.

" well then. Breakfast it is."

" is lily ignoring me?" James asked as he sat down.

When he arrived in the common room that morning she had spotted him but turned away immediately. She wouldn't even bat an eye in his direction and now she wasn't even sitting at the table.

Speaking of people not sitting at their table, neither was severus.

His eyes glazed over the slytherins table. He saw all the usual people, just not severus, lucius or reg.

It was worrying him.

" well you did kind of break her best friends heart." Sirius answered him, sitting down next to him.

" speaking of which, did you make up?" Remus asked hopefully.

" um...sort of?"

" sort of?"

" he said he would give me a second chance but we didn't really, um make up in a sense."

" so he just left?"

" yeah. I told him I'll make it up to him and today he sent me an owl telling me to be at breakfast."

" hmm. You think hes ok? I dont see him in the great hall." Peter looked around.

" me neither. Im assuming lily is with him."

" yeah. I hope hes oka-"

" hey Potter." A cool voice said behind him.

He flinched involuntarily.

" shit! Where did you come from?!" James yelled.

Lucius rolled his eyes and handed him a small envelope. Regulus was standing behind him with his arms crossed.

This was suspicious.

" whats this?"

" open it." Lucius said blankly.

James' eyebrows knit together. He hesitantly ripped open the letter, finding and taking out the small card inside.

He unfolded it and read it out loud.
