Nobody's POV
Saturday
Today the Edmonds had to go to a family court hearing to put the restraining order in process. Sienna will be at Trina's house until they finish.
"Mommy I'm scared," Peyton told her mom while they were on their way to the courthouse.
"Why baby?"
"What if she hurts me?"
"She can't hurt you because there are going to be police officers in the courtroom and they are going to protect you and make sure that she doesn't hurt you," Toni informed Peyton which calmed all her worries.
"Okay."

Family Courtroom
Tamar was with them because she picked up Peyton from school that day and saw that she was upset. So she might have to testify.
"Docket number 2152021. Edmonds vs. Patenburg." The clerk said and the judge walked up to the bench.
Toni's POV
This judge looked a little sketchy. She doesn't look like a certified judge. Matter of fact this courthouse looks fake.
Nobody's POV
"Good day everyone."
"Good day." Kenny went first on the stand. They swore him in before he took a seat on the witness stand.
"Mr. Edmonds I understand that you have a restraining order against my client." Nicole's lawyer spoke.
"Yes, I do."
"Why?"
"I filed it because she showed up at my daughter's school unannounced and caused a bruise on her arm." Kenny explained.
"This bruise?" He asked and pressed the remote which showed Peyton's bruise on the big screen tv.
"Yes."
"How are you so sure that your daughter didn't inflict the bruise on herself?"
"As you can see the bruise is on her right arm. My daughter is right-handed so there's no possible way that she can bruise up herself."
"How are you so sure that nobody else bruised her?"
"She would've told me if someone else did it to her."
"So are you saying that your daughter doesn't lie?"
"I'm saying that my daughter doesn't lie about a serious situation."
"No further questions."
"Mr. Edmonds you can step down now." Nicole's lawyer told him and he walked away.
"I'll like to call Peyton Edmonds to the stand." Kenny's lawyer said and Peyton got up. They swore her in before she took a seat on the witness stand.
"What happened the day you got the bruise?"
"I was walking to pick up my sister from school and I was dragged into a limo."
"What happened after you were in the limo?"
"Uh, I uh, I saw Nicole and I tried to get out the limo."
"Why couldn't you get out?"
"The limo was locked."
"Did Nicole say anything to you?"
"We just started talking and then she said why am I not talking to her like how I used to."
"What was your response?"
"I told her '"Maybe it's because you gave me shrimp when I was younger knowing I was allergic to them. Maybe it's because you had your friend try and kill my parents and my little sister-'" Peyton got cut off by Nicole's lawyer.
"Irrelevant! It doesn't have anything to do with the reason why the restraining order was filed against my client."
"Sustained."
"No further questions your honor."
"Peyton you may step down. Let's take a 30-minute recess."
The Edmonds went to have a quick lunch at a diner across the street from the courthouse.
"Mommy, will Nicole go to jail for hurting me?"
"I don't know baby we have to see first." Toni felt this sharp pain in her back so she grabbed Kenny's hand and squeezed it until the pain went away.
"Ouch!"
"You okay babe?" Kenny asked looking at her.
"Yeah, I just got this pain but it went away."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, Ken I'm fine. Stop worrying." She said and kissed his lips.
Back in the courtroom
"I am not going to go through with the restraining order against Ms. Patenburg because the reasons that Mr. Edmond's lawyer provided were not satisfactory reasons."
"What?" Toni mumbled from the bench.
"So therefore Ms. Patenburg can see her daughter, Peyton Edmonds, anytime she likes. Court is adjourned." She said and banged her gavel on the coaster.
Toni's POV
This is some bullshit. This whole thing seems weird. I don't know how but it just does. I looked at Peyton and I could see the tears welling up in her eyes. Kenny was talking to the lawyer about what just happened.
"It's okay princess. Everything will be fine. We'll just have to keep trying again."
"If she got away with this the first time s-she will get away with it a-again." She said hiccuping. I took a deep breath and I felt eyes on me. I looked up and I saw Nicole staring at me. She walked over to us and I rolled my eyes.
"I think you should leave."
"Oh shut up." She said and I arched my eyebrow,
"I wouldn't want to have to beat you up again."
"I didn't come here to argue with you. I came to talk to my daughter."
"Scary." I mumbled under my breath.
"Hi, sweetheart."
"Leave me alone."
"I just want to say that I'm sorry for what I did in the past but I'm willing to make it up to you." Peyton stayed silent.
"Do you forgive me?"
"No." She mumbled through tears. Nicole was about to say something but got called by her lawyer.
"Ms. Patenburg we have to go now."
"Bye sweetheart." She said before leaving and Peyton cried harder.
"It's alright baby." I said and rubbed her back. Kenny walked up to us and sat down.
"I'm sorry baby that this had to happen."
"It's okay daddy it's not your fault." She hugged him and he rubbed her back comforting her.
I need an explanation because this is not making any sense.
