Today is the day of the funeral and in all honesty, Toni didn't feel like going. She didn't want to see her grandmother's cold pale body in the casket. She didn't feel like crying and getting a headache after. Toni knew that her family wanted her to come but she didn't want to.
Kenny's POV
I know Toni's family, especially Tay wanted her to go but she just hasn't gotten over the fact that her grandmother is dead.
"Hi, momma E."
"Hi, son. Are you guys ready yet?"
"Uh, no. Tone doesn't feel like going."
"What, why? Let me talk to her."
"Okay. Babe?"
"Hmm?"
"Your mom wants to speak to you."
"I don't want to speak to her." She mumbled.
"Toni you better take the damn phone right now!" Evelyn yelled making Toni sit up in bed and take the phone.
"Hello."
"Toni you listen to me, and you better listen closely. You will come to this funeral no if's and's or buts. Now take a shower and get dressed. Be here in less than an hour, I'm waiting. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes ma'am," Toni said like a 5-year-old.
"Okay, I'll see you guys when y'all get here."

Toni and Kenny arrived at the funeral before the guests came.

"Hi, Toni."
"Hey." She spoke dryly.
"We have a situation."
"What, what's wrong?"
"So apparently the M.E forgot to put her jewelry on her so we don't have any jewelry."
"It's fine. I have her necklace." Toni said taking off her grandmother's necklace. Traci raised her head so Toni can place the necklace around Phylicia's neck. After latching the necklace around her neck she stepped back and looked at Phylicia's dead body.
Toni sniffled and wiped her tears. Kenny came from behind her and rubbed her shoulders. They took a seat just as the guest arrived.

"Now we will have Phylicia's granddaughter, Toni, come up and say something to honor Phylicia." Toni was shocked. She didn't agree to say anything up on the podium but she did it anyway because she knew that it would make her grandmother happy.
"Well, our grandmother was a very kind, wonderful, and loving lady. She was the type of grandmother that will let you come over to her house because you didn't feel like going to school. She was the type of grandmother that will give you money all the time and tell you not to tell your mom or dad. The memories you've made with us will forever be in my heart. Don't think of our grandma as gone away, think of her as living in the hearts of those who she touched. We love you grandma and you will forever be in our hearts, in our minds, and our memories." She spoke wiping her tears and stepping down. Her speech had the guests in tears and even the pastor.
