"Kakashi!"
Naruto and Kakashi stood on the red arch just outside the cave. They were watching and waiting for the blond Akatsuki member to land, but it didn't appear that he had any plan to do so.
"We've come to help!" I called up.
Kakashi gazed down at us. "What about the others?"
"Each team has four members. I figured it was even."
"Are you really sure you want to waste your time on me? Kakashi of the Sharingan," the man in the air finally spoke. "My man Sasori is probably a much more difficult opponent. As much as I hate to say it."
I watched as Kakashi pulled back his forehead protector to reveal his sharingan.
"It seems that the others have started fighting already," he continued. "How confident are you in those kids and old lady? You really think they're good enough to handle my man Sasori?"
Kamina and I reached the top of the arch, and before Kakashi could respond, I whispered in his ear. "He's trying to isolate Naruto by getting us to leave."
He nodded. "I know, but this is the guy that brought down the Kazekage. I also recognize him from our bingo book in the ANBU, his name is Deidara. I also think it's going to take all of us working together to take him down."
"Don't worry. You guys go back and help Sakura and the others. I can handle him," Naruto growled.
"Get over it, Naruto. We're not going anywhere."
Kakashi's eyes grew slightly in size, showing that he was equally as surprised as I was to hear Kamina speak to Naruto that way. Naruto didn't seem fazed, other than finally keeping his mouth shut.
"I might borrow him on future missions," Kakashi muttered so only I could hear.
"By all means. I can understand why."
Naruto growled and finally cut loose. Jumping from where we stood, he tried to attach himself to the bird in the air. Missing, he collided with the rock face across from us.
I groaned. "Naruto-"
A second later, Naruto crawled out of the hole he created in the rocks. "I'll never let you have him! Nothing can stop me from getting him!"
A smirk stretched across Deidara's face, but he didn't speak another word. Instead, he began flying in the opposite direction. Naruto didn't hesitate before running after him.
"We have to follow him," I said, jumping down from where we stood.
We had to run through a narrow canal in order to keep up with the giant bird. Large trees stretched across the body of water and Naruto began to climb them like giant stares, trying to reach Deidara and Gaara's body. He was moving so fast that it left the rest of us no other choice but to follow.
A loud explosion made all of us lose our balance for a moment.
I looked up to see Naruto hanging from a log, a large gap blown out next to him.
I didn't have enough time to react because my body was tugged away and firmly pressed against a warm chest. The sound of two explosions followed, the heat from them warming my back.
"Explosives," Kakashi mumbled.
I unwillingly pushed myself off his chest and frantically looked around for Kamina, and as my gaze locked on him, the green fabric he had around his eyes fell to the ground.
His emerald green eyes blinked rapidly to adjust to the light.
"Hold on, you can see?" I questioned, my voice cracking from shock. "What exactly did you get up to while you were away, Kamina?"
