~Five Days Later~

I leaned on the railing of the observation deck. Because so many students had passed the Forest of Death, it was required for the genin to take another preliminary test before the final exam. Right now, I was watching Amari give a beating to a boy several years older than him.

"Winner! Amari Yamanaka!"

I glanced up from the arena and my eyes locked with Kakashi who was standing on the other side of the deck.

I quickly looked away.

"That's two for two. Kamina is the only one on your team left to fight," Kurenai said, leaning on the rail next to me.

I covered my mouth and nose with my hands. "I know. He's probably feeling the pressure since Jin and Amari both won their matches."

Just as the words left my mouth, Kamina's name popped up on the board. His opponent was going to be one of the sound shinobi.

I closed my eyes as the match began. My intuition was telling me that this match wouldn't end the way I hoped, but I so wished I was wrong.

Kamina flung a sharpened blade of wind towards his opposer, but it missed by a hair. Then out of nowhere, Kamina pressed his hands over his ears. A look of agony twisted his features.

"I have to admit. Your hearing is sharp, but that just makes my job so much easier," the sound genin chuckled.

Kamina fell to his knees and clutched his head. "Ahrg!"

"Oh no," I whispered.

Kamina curled up on the ground and the sound shinobi stepped away, chuckling darkly.

Two medical nin helped him up and walked him out of the building, looking completely defeated.

"Are you going after him?" Kurenai asked.

I shook my head. "I'm sure he doesn't want anyone following him right now."

The next two to take to the arena were Sasuke and an older leaf shinobi named Yoroi.

Seeing Kakashi's student, I couldn't help but glance up in his direction.

His one visible eye was already locked on me.

Kurenai shifted so that she faced me. "Are you going to tell me what happened between you two?"

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not blind. He's been staring at you since these matches began. Just tell me what's going on."

"What's going on?" Asuma asked, leaning up on my other side.

"Nothing."

Kurenai crossed her arms. "Not nothing. Something happened between her and Kakashi that she's not telling us."

I stayed silent and focused on Sasuke's match.

"We're not letting you off that easy," Asuma chuckled, leaning closer to me. "What went down?"

"I already said it. Nothing went down."

"Was it on the mission?" Kurenai pressed.

I sighed and scratched my brow. There was really no way for me to hide anything from these two.  "Yeah. On the mission."

I hoped the answer would satisfy them, but I was wrong. It only made them push further.

Asuma bumped me. "Don't leave us hanging."

A blush made its way to my face when I thought back to five days ago. Back to what happened with Kakashi on my living room couch.

"No," Kurenai gasped. "You didn't."
