When my eyes opened the next morning the first thing I saw was Kakashi's sleeping face. His lips were slightly parted and his silver hair stuck up in all directions, making him look handsomely disheveled.

Not wanting to wake him, I slowly slid the covers off my still naked body and threw on one of his black undershirts. I then tip-toed across the room and out the door. Lucky for me his apartment only had sliding wood-frame doors with paper coverings, making them easy to open and shut silently.

Padding over to my overnight bag, I pulled my bottle of pills out from the side pocket.

I was glad Kakashi was asleep so that I could take them alone. There was a sense of shame that came along with needing them.

Kakashi didn't have much for groceries in his fridge as I searched for something to down my pill with, but he did have green tea and a kettle.

Just as I was pouring the steaming liquid into a mug, I heard Kakashi's bedroom door slide open and bang against its frame. I looked up just in time to see him come running down the hall with nothing but a white bedsheet wrapped around his hips.

"Um, good morning," I said awkwardly.

Kakashi sighed and plopped down in one of his dining chairs. "I thought you woke up early and left."

"No. I just had to uh—" I held up the pill bottle and shook it.

Kakashi nodded. "I'll let you take that while I get dressed. It feels wrong to be sitting here in my bedsheet."

I laughed lightly and watched in amusement as Kakashi walked away. The white bedsheet that dragged behind him was sheer enough that I could see his ass right through it.

Once his bedroom door shut, I popped one of my pills in my mouth and chased it with green tea before sitting down at Kakashi's dining table.

A few minutes later he returned. This time wearing grey sweatpants and one of his black undershirts. His mask was nowhere to be seen.

He sat across from me and I watched him through the steam rising from my cup. I didn't know how to start this 'conversation' we needed to have. I was hoping he'd begin with saying what was on his mind first.

"Do you want some breakfast?" He asked after awhile.

I laughed humourlessly. "You're trying to avoid this just as much as I am."

"I'm not trying to avoid anything. You're the one who broke up with me, so I feel it only makes sense that you talk first."

"Fine then. If we're going to do this we may as well go all the way back to the beginning," I said, feeling a bit irritated with him already. "Why did you keep our relationship a secret so long?"

Kakashi opened his mouth to answer but I held up a hand to stop him. "Actually, let's try going back a little further. If I hadn't brought up us dating in the first place, would you have ever shown romantic interest in me?"

"Probably not," he answered.

It felt like a large weight was pressing against my chest. "At least you're honest."
