I entered Lady Tsunade's office first, the three boys following behind me. To my surprise, Kakashi and his team were gathered around her desk.

Kakashi's only visible eye met my gaze. Just being near him made my whole body yearn for his touch. I wanted nothing more than to walk over and wrap my arms around him, pressing my body against his solid chest and breath in his intoxicating scent. But I couldn't do that. Not when I was in a room full of people we were trying to hide the truth from.

Instead, I gave him a curt nod that he returned.

"Is it just me, or is it hot in here?" Jin whispered beside me, pulling at the collar of his shirt.

"It's just you," I mumbled.

Amari smirked. "No. It's definitely hot in here."

I stayed slight, but the deep blush on my cheeks gave away my embarrassment.

"Team 2. Glad you could make it on such short notice," Lady Tsunade spoke.

I bowed respectfully, but before I could speak a word, a voice I hadn't heard in a long time spoke over me.

"Kamina! Long time no see, huh?"

I looked over my shoulder to see Naruto nudging Kamina with his elbow, a cheesy grin spread across his face.

"You're back?" I said in surprise.

"Yup! Kamina and I arrived together not too long ago."

My other two students looked at Kamina. "Together?" They said in unison.

Kamina shrugged. "We ran into each other on the road. It was harder to navigate my way than I thought, so it was a relief to find him and Master Jiraiya."

"Seriously," Jin whined. "You ditched us to hang out with Naruto for two years?"

"Hey!" Naruto spat.

"I'm sorry. I—" Kamina was caught off by the sound of Lady Tsunade's fist banging against her desk.

"The eight of you can catch up later. I have an important mission for the group of you that takes precedents over whatever crap you're arguing about."

None of us spoke. Our attention was focused solely on Tsunade.

"Good. Now, we received word from the Hidden Sand that the Kazekage has been taken prisoner by the Akatsuki."

Naruto's playful features turned down in a deep frown.

"We've been studying the group," Tsunade spoke after a brief pause. "We know more about the Akatsuki than any other village. Therefore the Sand has requested out help. I want both Team Kakashi and Team Two to go there and follow there orders. Giving them any backup they need."

"What are all of you standing around for?" Naruto suddenly yelled. "Let's go!"

The seven of us left Tsunade's office and didn't waste any time leaving the village. Each of us had a small bag of equipment gathered and were waiting by the front gates within the hour.
