Presently, I sat with my team at Ichiraku. I managed to avoid Kakashi for a few days before he left the village to train Sasuke. That 'talk' he said we were going to have never ended up happening. Not that I was complaining.

"Hurry and finish up you two," I said to Amari and Jin. "We have training to do before the final part of the exams."

In response, Jin slurped back the last of whatever was in his bowl. "Let's go!"

I turned to Kamina who was sitting to my left. "You can come and train with us too, you know? Just because you won't be competing doesn't mean you aren't still a part of this team."

He shook his head. "I'm okay. I don't want to train right now."

"Okay. At least treat yourself to as much ramen as you want," I said, laying cash down on the counter.

"Bye, Kamina!" Jin waved as the rest of us made our way to the training grounds.

Once we arrived, I made Jin and Amari stand several feet apart in the middle of the field.

"The goal of the final exam isn't just to win. It's more of a talent show to exhibit your skills and wisdom. Even if you lose, there's still a chance that you could be deemed worthy of being a chunin."

"Well that's a relief," Jin sighed. "Now I don't feel as stressed."

"You should be stressed. You could very easily be teamed up with someone with double your experience and power, and they will pummel you."

The colour drained from Jin's face and it made Amari chuckle.

"The two of you are going to spar against one another. Lightning against water."

Amari smirked in amusement.

"What!? But he'll just use his mind transfer thingy and kick my butt! I won't even stand a chance!" Jin exclaimed.

"No he won't."

Amari raised a brow. "What?"

"You want to become a strong shinobi using your own jutsu. The mind transfer is a family jutsu, so you're not allowed to use it in today's spar."

Jin seemed relieved.

"Now start!"

Amari whipped a kunai our from the pouch of his leg and it sparked with blue electricity.

"What!? We're starting now?"

Panicked, Jin ran from Amari's attack. His next reaction was to try and create a water wall to deflect his teammates advances. His plan failed, and only a small fountain of water rose up from the grass.

Amari laughed. "Are you seriously thinking you'll pass the exam when all you can do is make puddles?"

"Shut up!" Jin retorted, but it only fuelled Amari's amusement

Amari used the new puddles of water as a conductor to chanel his lightning and send currents up Jin's legs.

It wasn't hard to see Jin's growing frustration with his teammate. The tips of his ears were red and his jaw worked as he clenched his teeth.
