|YOU|

We were a full twenty-four hours into our journey when I started to notice the team, as well as Amora, getting antsy.

I watched as Amora, who was still clinging to Kamina, reached up and tried to slip her fingers under the hem of his mask.

Kamina caught her wrist. "Please don't touch that."

The young girl stuck out her bottom lip in a pout. "Why can't I see your eyes? I bet you'd look way more handsome if I could see them."

"He probably doesn't wanna take it off because he's got a narley tan line from that thing," Jin laughed as a stick hit him in the back of the head.

The boy spun around and shot a glare at Amari. "What was that for?"

His question was met with a shrug. "What was what for?"

Jin huffed and turned back around, trying to ignore his teammate as more sticks pelted him in the back of the head.

I could see the tips of Jin's ears slowly turning red.

"Seriously, what is your issue!"

I stopped abruptly, spinning around on my heels and grabbing the two boys by the collars of their shirts and dragging them over to sit on a near by log.

My first reaction to the whole situation was annoyance. Up until I was assigned these three, I had only ever been on teams of elite shinobi with the exception of when I was a genin myself. However, I had to realize that even though the three boys in front of me were now ninja, they were still young kids.

"I understand that a long trip like this can be boring, but the three of you are in charge of this girls life. You can't be fooling around," I scolded.

Jin and Amari both had their heads hung.

"So that means no more throwing sticks at each other, am I clear?"

I was met with a few nods.

"Good." I looked up at the sky to see the sun setting, casting an orange and red hue across the clouds. "It's getting late. We'll set up camp here and by tomorrow afternoon we should reach the Hidden Cloud Village."

I sent Amari and Jin in separate directions to gather firewood while Kamina and I set up our sleeping area. Well, while I set up the sleeping area and Kamina kept Amora occupied.

In all honesty I felt bad that she was clinging to him the way she was, but there wasn't exactly anything I could say to make her stop. She was the client after all, and even though she was a child I still technically had to take orders from her.

Once the fire was blazing and everyone was settled down, I decided it was time for everyone to get some rest.

"I'll take first watch so the four of you can get some sleep. In a couple hours I'll wake up Amari, then after that it'll be Jin then Kamina. Sound good?"

I received nods of approval before the whole team nestled down in their sleeping bags.

"Amora," I said, trying to get the attention of the girl wiggling herself into Kamina's sleeping bag.

"Yes?"

"Is it okay if you sleep on your own? Kamina needs some rest."

The girl narrowed her eyes and it wasn't hard to tell she was about to rip me a new one. However, before she said a word Kamina spoke up.

"It's fine, (Y/N) sensei. I don't mind."

I sighed. "Whatever you say."

I watched as Amora curled into Kamina's side and he tightened the knot on his headband, making sure it was secure around his eyes.
