Thanks for the request!)

Oswald sighs slightly, dark blue eyes blinking up to the starry sky, a frown prominent on his face, ears lowered to the sides of his head. Ever since his wife passed, he's felt so empty. Though he does have his brother, kids and friends, and Ortensia did die many years ago, he couldn't get over the heartbreak and devistation of losing someone so close to him. He would kill to have that feeling of joy again. To have that spark in his heart. Or just to have someone love him as much as she did, someone he could hold close and tell all his secrets and feelings.
He snaps back to reality once he felt tears trickling down his face, the watery substance only freezing his cheeks more. He shakes his head, ridding of his tears with his sleeve, sniffling. He didn't want to cry incase his children or brother saw him. They were still dependent on him, he needed to toughen out, no matter how difficult that is for him.

Footsteps caused his ears to perk up, turning his head quickly in the direction they came from, seeing one of his closests friends. (Y/n). The female was also close to Ortensia, they were childhood friends, practically raised together. The (h/c) haired female was basically the only one who understood the full extent of Oswald's feelings.
"Hey Ossy" the female says, giving the rabbit a kind smile as she sat next to him. He gives a tired wave, straightening his posture, looking down at the girl. (Y/n) gives him a sympathetic look, her heart aching by the sight of the broken male. She misses his smile. As much as she hates to admit it, she has liked the rabbit for awhile now. She felt terrible about it since her best friend was dating him, and eventually married. Now Ortensia was gone, (y/n) couldn't help but think she would hate her for even going near Oswald, though the cat wasn't like that. She knew (y/n) liked Oswald, and had full trust she would respect their relationship, which the (h/c) haired girl did. Ortensia even said, when she would have her ink attacks, that she wouldn't mind it Oswald remarried with someone just like (y/n), or her herself.

The female is pulled from her thoughts by Oswald snapping his fingers infront of her face, concern lacing his eyes as he tilts his head. (Y/n)'s cheeks flushed red from embarresment, and the adorable sight infront of her, quickly looking away, "s..sorry, I didn't mean to stare....". Oswald shakes his head, placing his hand on her shoulder, hoping she understood he was trying to ask if she was okay.
All (y/n) did was nod, fiddling with her fingers, eyes focused on the ground. Oswald pouts, biting his bottom lip in thought. There was so much he wanted to say to this girl, but he knew his voice would sound terrible from all these years of not being used. He doesn't even know if he remembers how to talk.

He shakes off his thoughts, gently running his thumb over (y/n)'s shoulder, a small smile cracking at his lips from her presence. He had known about her crush on him, Ortensia had accidentally told him. He respected his friends feelings, and didn't think of her in a different light or look at her with disgust, he was glad about it, in a way. Knowing that (y/n) was trustworthy enough to not try anything, it made his heart spark with joy. He knew Ortensia would want him to be happy and move on, he just needs more help than he initially thought.

"I'm sorry, Oswald...." a meak voice says, pulling the tall rabbit from his daze, looking down at (y/n), he looked to be in tears. Oswald raised his eyebrows in surprise, heart aching at the sight. "I'm sorry about what happened to Ortensia.....I...I understand how much you miss her....and how much she meant to you. She was such a kind person, she didn't deserve it. I'm so sorry" (y/n) finishes, sobbing silently, shoulders shaking.
Oswald's brow furrows in sorrow, hesitantly reaching over and wiping away the tears, building up the courage to say "don't apologize....it wasn't your fault". He grimaced at his own voice. He hadn't heard it in awhile and underestimated how hoarse and soar it would sound, and regretted opening his mouth in first place.
(Y/n) looks up at Oswald with a shocked expression, mouth agape and eyebrows raied in surprise. She hadn't heard his voice in so long, and didn't realize how much she had missed it. It sent heat to her cheeks.
Oswald's ears flop down in fear, a nervous smile on his face, mentally freaking out, questioning if he did the right thing, wishing he could go back in time and stop himself.
"You talked?" (Y/n) finally speaks, a gentle smile on her face.
"I, uh, s..sorry....?" He mumbles, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Don't apologize!" The (h/c) haired female accidentally yells, startling herself, "I...I missed your voice.....".
Oswald smiles slightly, a red hue dusting over his cheeks, "well....I'm glad you're smiling again. You shouldn't apologize for what happened to O..Ortensia....I..it couldn't be helped".
(Y/n) nods sadly, placing her hand ontop of Oswald's, "still....she didn't deserve it...".
Oswald hums slightly, grasping the girl's hand in his, "its part of life....its terrible to experience...but can't be helped. I can't cling onto it forever....". Oswald looks into the (e/c) eyes infront of him, smiling sweetly, "besides, she wouldn't want me to live the rest of my life in depression. It isn't good for my family or myself...".
"You're going to try and get better?" (Y/n) asks with a hopeful smile, glad Oswald would attempt to smile again.
Oswald chuckles slightly, rubbing the back of his neck, "I....I would enjoy some help....I..if you don't mind?".
(Y/n) blushes softly, a shy smile on her face, "i'd love to help you get better, Ossy...".
The rabbit smiles more, gently grabbing the female's chin, resting his forehead on hers, "thank you for being there for me....it means alot to me. I love you...".
A little surprised, (y/n) tenses up, processing what she had heard, questioning whether it was real or false hope. She soon comes back to reality, closing her eyes in content, "I...I love you too...".
