Felix pov
I was sitting by my fire, trying to warm myself up in the freezing cold night. Other than the crackling flames and the slight noise from a cricket or two, it was silent. I have to admit, I was bored. I have always hated the nights on my adventures. But I went through them without a problem. Just then, I heard rustling coming from the bushes. Being curious, and startled, I slowly stood up. I grabbed my dagger from my bag, gripping onto the handle tightly, prepared to attack if needed. I then slowly and cautiously approached the bush, ready for the worst. Once I was close to the bush, I took a deep breath, calming my mind. I slowly knelt down, making my movements as silent and as subtle as possible as I reached out towards the bush. In one quick and swift movement, I moved the bush out of the way. Behind it was a small fox, trembling out of fear and exposure to the cold. I let out a small and quiet 'aww' as I stared down at it. It stared back with giant, glistening (e/c) eyes. It looked terrified as it stared up at me. I snapped out of my awe infested trance and stood up, backing away from the small critter while still keeping an eye on it. It slowly took a few steps towards me, and that's when I saw it's full figure. What I thought was a small fox was actually an understatement. It was probably up to my height. I mustn't have noticed since it was seeled behind a bush. It looked majestic. It's fur was a silky (h/c) color with bright (e/c) orbs that stared right into my soul. And the thing that stood out the most was its tails. It had multiple tails. Nine to be exact. It was unlike anything I've ever seen before. As we both stared at each other, it slowly began to glow until it became almost blinding to look at it. I shielded my eyes from the brightness with my arms. A couple seconds past and I decided to look again. I slowly moved my arms away and looked upon a shocking sight. Where the fox stood, there was now a female. She had similar features that the fox had. Like (e/c) eyes and (h/c) hair, she still had her ears and tails as well. She slightly smiled at me as I stared in complete shock and awe. She giggled quietly, "hi". "H..hello" I stutter in amazement. "You're probably confused" she says, her voice soft and calm. I nod slowly, staring into her eyes. They were enchanting. Almost hypnotic. "Ever heard of a kitsune?" She asks, tilting her head to the side slightly. "No......wait! Yes! Aren't they intelligent beings that posses some sort of ability to switch from a human form to a fox form that increases depending on their age and wisdom?" I ask, a nervous smile forming on my face. She stared at me with wide eyes. She seemed shocked, almost impressed. "H..how did you know all that?" She asks, her ears perking up. I shrug slightly "on one of my adventures, I fount an abandoned temple and it had some sort of hyrogliphics in it". "Wow, you're an adventurer?" She asks, regaining her small smile. I nod, humming as a response. "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Felix!" I say with a huge, gleaming smile. "I'm (y/n)" she says, a soft smile on her face. Oh, she looks so innocent. Wait, haven't kitsunes been around for a couple centries? And the limit of their tails is up to nine, so how old is she? "So, uh, odd question, but how old are you?" I nervously ask, my ears lowering slightly. She went into thought for a moment, before responding with "well, it's been a few years since I've spoken to someone, that's when I really kept count. I lost count after my first centrie on Earth. So, possibly a couple centries old". Oh.. (FBI open up! I'll go now). "Wow, that long and you look fantastic!" I beam. Her cheeks dust a bright shade of pink by my small comment, but a small smile spread across her face anyway. "T..thank you, I..I guess" she says, rubbing the back of her neck with a polite smile on her face and a gleam in her eyes. I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks as I starred into her hypnotic (e/c) eyes. Something about her just sparked an odd feeling in my heart and sent butterflies to flutter inside my stomach. The odd sensation felt nice, it's almost like I can't get enough. It was like an addictive drug. (drugs are bad, m'k). It was only when I heard a bird cawing that I noticed the awkward silence that had dawned upon us. I rub the back of my neck, saying "you wouldn't mind telling a guy about your species, would you?". She seemed to be surprised by my sudden question. She shook her head slightly, smiling and saying "that's the first time I've ever heard that. Normally people run away in fear, try to kill me or try to harvest my power. You're quite remarkable, Felix". My cheeks go a shade of red from the comment, the odd feeling rising back inside my stomach. She lets out a small giggle and says "of course I'll tell you". A curious smile spreads across my face as my ears perk up, "alright!". (Y/n) smiles at me, making the odd sensation in my stomach increase. I ignored it and we both sat down next to each. She then began to explain, me asking a few questions every now and then with her politely answering them. As she got further into her explantations, the less I listened. It was like everything disappeared and I could only focus on her. Taking in every little detail about her. From the top of her (h/c) hair to the bottom of her shoes. She was mesmerizing. Enchanting. Just.....perfect! Why am I thinking all this? Normally my mind is clogged with the mythical and unexplained. But she's changed that. I'm an adventurer for crying out loud! Not a fangirl! Slowly, my eye lids grew heavy as my sleepless nights washed upon me. Why didn't I sleep? I don't know. But my exhaustion is finally catching up to me. Just then, everything came dark as I unexpectedly fell into a dreamless sleep.
(Y/n) pov
In the middle of me talking, Felix's head gently fell onto my shoulder. It startled me when we touched, but I got over whelmed by confusion. "Uh, Felix?" I ask. No response. "Felix?" I repeat. Again, no response. I got a little worried. What if he just died!? And I'd get balmed!? I calmed down when I saw his chest slowly and rising. I sigh as a rush of relief washed over me. He was fine. But I'm kind of in a predicament. I can't move. If I do I have a chance of waking him and I don't want to do that. It fell silent as my mind was scrambling with ideas or just thoughts. I was cut from them as I felt an arm go around my waist. My whole body tensed up by the sudden movement. I slowly look at who, or what, ever had wrapped their arm around my waist. It was Felix. Oh God. My heart was beating fast and my cheeks went red hot. I couldn't act. And I didn't want to act. It was like I was actually wanting to get this close to him. I only met him a couple hours ago....why was I feeling these emotions towards him? But yet, I didn't complain. Infact, every fibre of my being was relaxing at his soft and gently touch. "Ok, (y/n). Calm down" I paused, a yawn escaping from my throat, "don't get too excited". I gently rested my head on Felix's, softly closing my eyes as a smile spread across my face. Exhaustion took control of me as I slowly accepted the entrance to the dream world. Before I could fully fall asleep, I mumbled "this is fine".
(Hope you liked it! Took me longer than expected because I'm a bitch who can't follow her own update schedule! *Yes I have one of those*. I might update again today. That's if if y'all want me to. Alright, thanks for the request and I'll see you in the next one!)
