I laid in bed tossing and turning as my heart ached. I wanted to give her a day full of our last adventures, sleep beside her one last time, give her a proper goodbye. But I got none of that. I was prepared to feel alone tomorrow, not as much as I do right now if things went the way they should've.

There was two knocks at the door before it opened, but I had my blanket pulled up all the way over my head. "She's gone." Sam said and closed the door behind him.

I slowly sat up and pulled the blanket off of myself as Sam sat down on the edge of my bed. "I'm sorry things didn't get to go the way you wanted. This certainly isn't going to be the end of anything between you two."

"I'm not going to let it be, not by a long shot. She's more than special. I don't think I've ever met a girl that was more into the paranormal than I was. To see some of the things she was capable of was truly amazing." I smiled softly, just thinking about the last week together.

"I like seeing you happy Colby, and you know that. I haven't seen you this happy in a long time either. You two were destined to meet, and I fully believe that. Even having the courage to post one another, that's a pretty bold move knowing how your fans are." Sam said.

"Have you seen how she tolerates it though? She was laughing at the rude comments on Twitter. When our waited spilled water all over her she handled the situation to the best form, when she easily could've popped off. The second she agreed to be in our video she put her social media on private. She knows exactly how it is. At the same time I feel bad that she would even have to think that way." I said, taking my fingers through my hair.

"I think regardless of what happens she is going to be by your side. Your timing is a little off but I promise this time apart is going to be worth it. Why don't you try visiting her when she's feeling better?" Sam asked, looking over at me.

"I already told her I would. But when there's a snow storm, that way we can be snowed in and annoy each other with our company." I let out a laugh and shook my head.

If I closed my eyes I could actually picture us running around having a snowball fight, making snow angels, building a snowman. I always wanted to have someone special in my life for the holidays, and now that I sort of have someone, we can't be together.

"Patience is a virtue, brother. You saw first hand how Katrina and I had to be in secret for a while. I'm sure you two can find a way to make things work even with distance between one another."

"I really appreciate you Sam, you know that? I don't know what I would do without you, especially in times like this." I stood up from the bed and held my arms out, showing him that I wanted a hug. He stood up and hugged me before leaving my room.

It was around 9:30 and I was sitting in my room eating Chipotle and drinking a white claw. I decided to rewatch Halloween and put myself in a better mindset. That was the first thing that we watched together. I just wanted to relive these moments so bad. It pained me to not have her so close anymore.

Just as I took a sip of my white claw I heard my phone start to ring and paused the movie. I picked my phone up to see "Sophia 💕" she was FaceTiming me. I swiped right to answer the call.

"Colby, I'm so sorry for leaving the way I did today." She said, covering her mouth as she let out a yawn.

"You don't have to be sorry Soph. As much as I miss having you here, you had to do what was right for yourself. Sam gave me a pretty good pep talk that made me feel better."

"Well.. I just wanted to let you know that I made it back home safe. It's almost midnight here, so at least the time difference isn't terrible. Look at this though." She rotated the camera to show me outside of her window it was snowing, and there was a light dusting on the ground.

"I better be there for the next one." I said as I took a bite of my burrito.

"Yes, you better." She said with a giggle. "It really does feel weird to be back in such an empty and quiet house." She let out a sigh as she sat on her bed. "I miss you."

"I miss you too Soph, I'm just hoping that I can come see you soon. Maybe we could aim for around Thanksgiving?" I asked, keeping my gaze on her.

"I would like that." She said and smiled softly. "Maybe while we're apart we could make some fun out of the distance between us?"

"How so?" I asked, raising a brow.

"You'll just have to wait and see, lover boy." She said with a wink. "I should shower and get some sleep though, it's been an awfully long day."

"You do that. Call me whenever you're feeling lonely, you know where I'll be." She nodded her head.

"I'll remember that. Goodnight, Colby."

"Goodnight, Soph."

She blew a kiss to the phone and hung up.
