Eighty Two

I grabbed my phone off of the table and frantically tried to call Colby.

Straight to voicemail.

"You're kidding?! The one time I have an emergency his phone is dead??" I rolled my eyes as I tossed my phone to the side and stormed off of the bus.

As soon as my feet hit the ground, I froze.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you.."

His voice taunted me in my head.

"Leave me alone, ugh!" I groaned out, already frustrated.

I pushed past his taunting voice and made my way over to the front doors, which were automatic doors that no longer worked properly. You had to force them open and close them shut each time you used them.

After getting myself situated inside, I stood in the center of the lobby.

"Colby? Colby?" I called out, but nothing.

"This is so bogus. Like if only they knew I was on the way to save their asses, as usual." I let out a huff and pressed the 'up' button for the elevator, and the doors immediately opened.

"Okay, okay.. let's figure out where Colby is." I said to myself, spinning my finger in a circle as I looked over the numbers. "Let's go with 9." I said to myself, pressing the button.

I leaned back against the elevator and watched as the floors went up, and up, and up. Finally with a ding the doors opened and I rushed out. Standing in the hall I looked to my left, then my right.

"Sam? Colby? Sam? Anyone?!" I called out their names and decided to start with the left side of the hallway, peeking into each room. There was no sign of them, not even the slightest voice.

"You're fucking with me, aren't you?" I said, rolling my eyes in annoyance.

"Soph? What are you doing in here?" I turned around the second I heard Colby's familiar voice.

"Oh thank god, I've been trying to find you guys! Your phone is dead, for one." I said, squinting in his direction. "We do in fact have a problem though."

"What's wrong?" He asked, his words laced with concern.

"I saw Richard on the RV. I'm telling you that Jake is in trouble, he has Richard's belongings. We need to find them before he does anything stupid."

"Oh yeah, well duty calls." A smirk formed on his lips as I watched what appeared to be Colby, shape shift into Richard.

"You've got to be kidding me!" I didn't even have time to react or panic, I just started running. All I could hear was his heavy footsteps trudging behind me. He wasn't going to get what he wanted with me around, he wants to take me out.

"Somebody help me!" I yelled out as my running became frantic. He could get me at any second and I would never know.

I ended up running into something while my thoughts were running faster than my legs, only to pull me from the trance that I was currently in.

"Woah, Soph, what the hell?" I looked up to see that I ran into Zak. "Wait, are you real?" I furrowed my brows and poked at his chest.

He was in fact real.

"I am real, yes. What are you doing running through the halls?" He asked while I took a step back to try and catch my breath.

"I saw Richard's spirit when I was on the RV. I tried to call Colby but his phone is dead. We need to find Jake, he's got some of his belongings and it's only asking for trouble."
