Seventy Seven

"Did you guys get to watch that video while we were gone for lunch?" I asked, every single one of us waking back into the building.

"We did go over it. Pretty crazy!" Aaron said. "You really do have a gift, Soph." He said with a smile.

"It was something that was hard to stop watching. The things that happened, you just wouldn't have expected it. I see why it's the most popular video you guys have out." Zak said.

"Wait, really?" Sam asked. Typically after the first few days you stop paying attention to the numbers.

"Indeed." Aaron replied.

"Did you guys do your interviews before we came down?" Colby asked, lacing his fingers in mine.

"Yeah, we did those yesterday so they were done and out of the way." Billy said. Colby nodded in response.

Suddenly we heard a knock at the front sliding doors. Most of us looked behind us out of curiosity as Zak walked over and opened it to reveal Patti Negri. She's a very famous psychic, and is on the show a lot.

"Hello everyone!" She waved, flashing us a big smile.

"Patti will be helping us conduct a walk through to end our first day in here." Zak stated.

"Corey, sweetheart. It's so good to see you again!" She said, pulling him into a hug.

"You guys know each other?" Colby asked. "Yeah, when I go on trips with TFIL, Elton invites her along for certain investigations. It's insane."

"We're going to spilt up into two groups. This was a newer idea. But we would like to let Sophia lead us in her direction as well. I was rather impressed with your first walk through." Zak said.

I honestly felt honored to have the chance to lead my own group of people for the show, but it also made me a little nervous.

"Both Sophia and Patti will be picking who they want to tag along with them." Aaron said. "Including us as well."

Myself and Patti stood opposite of everyone.

"You can go first." She said with a smile.

I nodded. My first choice would always be obvious. "Colby." I said with a smile.

"Ugh, these lovebirds are inseparable!" Corey whined out.

"I'll take Sam." Patti said.

We continued to go back and forth, back and forth until we had our teams picked out.

My teams consisted of Colby, Corey, Aaron, Billy, and Ryan. Patti took Sam, Zak, Jake, Angelina, and Jay.

So we went on our separate ways, saying goodbye and good luck as we each stepped on the elevator with our groups.

"Just pick what you're drawn to, and we'll see where it leads us." Aaron said, and I nodded.

I pressed the button to number 4. For some reason I was being drawn by a woman. At the moment I could tell who it may have been, but I decided to just follow their lead.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

Ding!

I looked forward at my reflection and saw all of the guys just standing still, basically waiting for my next move. I let out a deep breath and stepped off of the elevator.

Looking from side to side, this time I was being drawn to the right side of the hallway.

The guys it a shuffled behind me. It wasn't until I heard "STOP!" being yelled at me. "What?!" I quickly turned on the heels of my feet, but they all looked confused.

"Something wrong?" Billy asked.

"None of you said that?" I asked.

"Said what, babe?" Colby asked confused.

"You guys didn't yell at me to stop?"

"No, we were just following you." Aaron said.

I looked to my left, and in front of us was room 412.

"Is there importance to this room? Did somebody important stay in the room?" I asked.

"This was the last room that Elisa stayed in." Billy said.

"Fuck dude, it's her!"

Without saying another word I pushed the door open and stormed inside of the room. "Who's in here? Who is with us? What are you trying to show us?" I kept asking question after question. I wanted answers. I felt like I needed answers. Not for me, but for Elisa.

"Talk to me, please!" I walked over to the window and looked out at the view, which wasn't much honestly. I sighed and sat down on the floor.

"Let's do a spirit box." Billy said and sat down beside me. Everyone else followed suit and we sat in a small circle.

Colby sat across from me and held my hand.

"You got this Soph, you're amazing." Corey said.

"It's just so draining." I said in a whiny tone.

Billy turned the spirit box on and set it down in the middle of our circle.

"My name is Billy, and I'm here with my friends. We're looking to communicate with you. Can you tell us your name?" We sat there in silence, waiting and hoping to hear a response.

"Why did you lead Sophia to this room?" Corey asked.

"See me."

"Yes, we do see you. Is this Elisa?" I asked, chewing on my bottom lip.

"Stuck."

"Trapped."

"Break free."

"Get!"

The first three words that we got all sounded like a female, but the last one sounded like a male and he didn't seem happy.

"Are you mad that we're here?" I asked.

"Over shadowed."

"Woah dude! That was so clear!" Aaron exclaimed.

"What do you mean by over shadowed?" Colby asked.

"I died."

"First."

"No one... cares."

Suddenly I was overcome by sadness. It felt as if my heart strings were pulling apart. "Oh god.." I breathed out.

I closed my eyes and dipped my head down, watching the images that were flooding through my mind.

This poor man.

He stayed here after finding out his girlfriend had cheated on him. He locked himself in his room out of pure misery and died of a broken heart.

"I wanted her company."

I in came back to it and lifted my head up and reached out to turn the spirit box off.

"What was all of that?" Billy asked.

"A man died here or a broken heart. He feels overshadowed because nobody ever speaks of him, and he stayed in this room. He died in this room! To find peace, his story needs to be able to be told. I think it's our rightful duty to give him that." I said.

"What's his name?" Aaron asked.

"Rick."

Just for filler, there will be additional stories told throughout this that aren't true. The story for Rick I made up all together. I just want to add more to it than the same few famous stories they tell about the hotel.
