We said goodbye at the elevators and each stepped on one, both going our own ways. We watched as the doors closed and Patti wiggled her fingers at the buttons, then pressing number 9.
Why was the number 9 so special?
We rode the elevator up in silence. I decided to stick close to Angelina. Since Ryan told us that she was pregnant, I wanted to make sure that she stayed safe with him not around.
Ding!
Patti stepped off first and we all followed suit.
"Alright Patti, are you sending anything particular that would've brought us to floor nine?" Zak asked.
Being that they did a walkthrough prior to us showing up, along with interviews, he already knew what happened and where. He wanted to be able to test the credibility of her senses to a place she's never been before.
I think it's pretty sick.
She looked from side to side before going down the left side corridor.
"Something is down here. Something bad." She said.
We followed closely behind as she peaked in each door, before entering a room.
She almost let out a hiss in pain as she walked in the hotel room.
"I can hear it." She closed her eyes and a gritty smile formed on her lips, just enough to show her teeth. "This place is full of death, but a young woman really pulls me to here." She ran her fingers over her face and hummed quietly, Jay keeping the camera pointed on her.
We all stood back quietly watching her work.
"What exactly is it that you're feeling?" Zak asked.
"There's a man here. He's panicking. His wife is gone and he's got no idea where. He left out of rage due to a fight they were having, and when he came back she was gone." Patti said.
"Do you know his name?" Jake asked, stepping away from the group.
"Dewey."
"Do you know what drove her to leave?" He asked.
Patti simply shook her head. "He won't say. He's just sobbing. Why is he crying? Dewey, what happened to your wife?"
She stood there for a moment before walking over to the window. "He's on the floor here hysterical." She slid the window open and looked out.
"I can't get any answers from him." She said.
Suddenly it was like a switch flipped. She didn't do anything to invite anyone into her body, but it sure seemed like she was being taken over.
"Patti? Are you.. okay?" I asked, looking around at everyone to see if they were witnessing the same strange behavior that I was.
"I need to get out! I need to get out!" She yelled and started climbing on the window's ledge.
"Patti, no! Stop!" Zak shouted and ran over to her, wrapping his arms around her body and pulling her down. "Patti, are you insane?! You almost jumped out of that window!" Zak exclaimed.
She sat on the floor with her face in her hands and shook her head. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me."
At this point everyone was huddled around her, wanting to make sure that she was okay.
"Let's give her some room to breathe guys." I said. "She's okay."
Zak sat down on the floor across from Patti. "I'm this very room, a woman named Pauline Otton jumped from this very window after getting into a fight with her husband. Her husband, Dewey, that you picked up on left the room before it happened. Pauline landed on a pedestrian, which ended up killing him as well. They thought originally when the two were found that they had committed suicide together, but he was found with his hands in his pockets and his shoes on. If he jumped, his shoes would've come off."
"Oh god.. he must've come back and saw the window open and looked out it to find her." Patti said softly.
"I couldn't imagine in. I could never imagine seeing the image of someone committing suicide. But to not even know what's going on, and just walking down the street and you die on impact of someone else? That's fucking crazy." Angelina said, shaking her head.
"Maybe we should head out." Jay said. "I don't know about you guys, but this room isn't sitting right with me anymore."
Zak nodded and got up from the floor and helped Patti up. We exited the room and closed the door behind us.

The rest of the walk through flew by pretty fast, and it was now going on 10 pm when Zak radioed to the other group to call it a night.
We had no idea what they went though, but they had no idea what we went through either.
Getting off the elevator, Zak and Jay went to escort Patti out of the building and say their goodbyes.
"Hey man, how did it go?" Colby asked me as they walked over to the rest of us that were standing around in the lobby.
"Well, Patti almost jumped out of a window." I said, scratching the back of my head.
"WHAT?!" They all exclaimed in unison.
"Jay will have to show you the footage. I think the woman that jumped from the room we were in took over her body." Angelina said.
"Well that covers it. You need to stay out of that room, Soph." Colby said, looking over at her.
"What? Why?" She asked.
"It seems like they already got their answers. You're more sensitive, I don't want you to act upon anything you're feeling!" Colby stated.
"But it's okay if I go into Richard's room though, right?" She retorted, rolling her eyes at him.
"Wow, okay." He lowly chuckled and shook his head.
"We didn't get all of the answers, actually. There's more in that room to investigate, but I think we'll leave that one to Zak." I said, letting out a sigh.
It's only been the first day and this place was already getting under our skin.
