"Soph? What are you doing here? I thought we said you needed to step back today." I said, walking over to her.

"Well, we have a problem and I'm here to save your asses." She said, crossing her arms over her chest.

"What's wrong?" Sam asked.

"Finally, someone with interest." I watched as she raked her fingers through her hair as she looked around at the guys in the room.

"So I'm on the RV and get this pulsating pain in my head, literally knocking me on the floor. When I can finally collect myself, I see Richard. I tried calling Colby and it went straight to voicemail."

"My phone is on though." I interrupted.

"Clearly, he didn't want me to have communication with you, especially since he knows I can see him. He doesn't like that." She shrugged lightly. "Anyways, I came in here calling out your names trying to find anyone. Thinking I bumped into Colby, but really he can shapeshift. I bumped into Zak when I was running from him."

"So now what?" Ryan asked.

"We just need to keep in mind that he's here, that's all. Don't try and push things with him." Sam said.

"Actually, no. What we need to do is go find Jake before he does something stupid with the items of Richard's that he brought. He truly doesn't know what he's going to conjure up with that. There's going to be consequences to his actions."

"Let's go find him them. Angelina is with them and I don't need anything happening to her." Ryan said.

"Do you know what floor they are on?"

"Fourteen, that's where his room was." Sam said.

"Grab your stuff, we need to get going. Now!" Sophia shouted and etched watched as a e scurried to get all of our equipment together, and the second we were ready we walked as a group down the hall to the elevators.

It just wasn't safe for her to be on my own.

Something was bound to happen to one of us, I just don't know who.

We piled into the elevator and she pressed number 14. The doors closed and we began to go up a few floors before we heard a ding!

Sophia stepped off first and the rest of us followed behind. Looking to my right, at the main opening of the hallway everyone was sitting on the ground, with a circle of candles lit, and Richard's items in the center.

"What are you guys —" Jake started to ask, but was immediately cut off.

"Jake, what are you doing?" She asked, slowly walking over to them.

"We're trying to have a seance so we can get in contact with Richard, duh." He playfully shook his head and looked back down.

"Anyways, —"

"Not 'anyways'. Jake you need to stop. You have to close this circle, you have no idea what you're going to unleash. This is a murderer, and I can promise you it won't end well!" She warned.

"I'm not a scaredy cat." He scoffed. "Nothing is going to hurt me."

"Hurt you? Do you care about the rest of literally everyone else that's here? If I'm warning you, it's for a pretty damn good reason." She spat, crossing her arms over my chest.

Honestly, this was giving me major flashbacks to the Sharon Tate home. These two had a tendency to argue during an investigation, and typically before shit hits the fan.

"Angelina, for your safety please get away from the circle and stay behind the guys." She nodded her head and slowly got up, walking to stand behind me and the rest of the guys.

"Please close the circle, Jake."

"No! You don't get to control me!"

"I'm not controlling you, you idiot. I'm looking him right in the eyes right now, take my warning and close it!"

"Just listen to her brother, nobody needs to get hurt. Anything could happen to us." Corey said.

"We want evidence so bad, right? Well we're getting it." Jake let out a breath and looked down at one of the drawings he had.

"Richard, if you're here with us, can you please give us a sign?" He asked.

We stood there in silence, and for a minute, it truly felt like we were alone.

"See, everything is fine."

"Owww!" Sophia cried out as we saw her hit the wall. Reaction time wasn't even a thing, it happened faster than any of us could've possibly expected.

"Soph!" I pushed Jake out of the way, practically knocking him over as I sat on the ground and pulled Sophia into my arms. "Please be okay, please be okay.."

"Why couldn't you just fucking listen?!" Angelina spat. "How many fucking times does she have to actually give you warnings that YOU never acknowledge? You selfish bitch."

"Let's not say things that were going to regret." Ryan butted in.

"Why are you all arguing and nobody is calling an ambulance? Like can I get a slice of fucking help? She could have internal bleeding or some shit."

"I'm on it." Sam said and pulled his phone out, dialing the number and pressing his phone up to his ear.

I sighed as I sat there with Sophia in my arms. I held her body close to mine, resting her head up against my chest. Her favorite thing when we cuddled was always the sound of my heartbeat. Whether she was in-tuned or not, it would be something familiar to her.

I closed my eyes as I let out a deep sigh, hearing Sam in the background talk to a 911 operator. I rested my chin gently against the top of her head, just feeling my eyes watering.

Never did I want something to happen to her. Would my job and something I truly love, hurt the person I love?
