I woke up the next morning and couldn't help but groan out, my head was pounding from all of the alcohol I drank the night prior. The hangover the next day always made me wonder why I did this, but I enjoyed the feeling too much to just stop. Not the hangover, just the drinking part.
I rubbed over my eyes to adjust them to the light. Even with blackout curtains, a small amount of light was still able to make it inside. A yawn left my lips as I reached over to the nightstand to unplug my phone and check the time.
2:33 pm.
I went to remove the blankets from my body and toss them aside when I noticed another body in my bed.
Oh fuck.
I rubbed over my eyes again and thought that maybe this time when I opened them that the body would be gone, but it wasn't. She was still there. I gently reached out and brushed her hair back from her face, and that's when I discovered that it was Sophia fast asleep in my bed. How did it end up like this?
I carefully got out of bed to try and not disturb her, she really did look so peaceful. If only I could remember what even happened last night. Hopefully somebody knew. Maybe she knew. How did I get this fucking drunk?
I grabbed clothes from my dresser and went into the bathroom to take a shower. Turning the hot water on, I went over to the sink and grabbed the bottle of ibuprofen and popped a few in my hand and dipped my head under the sink to grab some water.
When the shower was starting to steam I stripped out of my clothes and steeped in, letting the hot water engulf my very hungover body. Food was definitely my next priority.
I lathered my body with my body wash and scrubbed shampoo and conditioner into my hair. Letting out a sigh, I stood under the hot water and let it fully take over my body. I stood like that for a few minutes before shutting the water off.
I grabbed my towel and dried off my body before putting on a pair of joggers and a XPLR t-shirt.
When I walked back into my bedroom I saw that Sophia was awake, sitting up in bed with her phone in her hand. "Good morning." I said, walking over to the bed and plopping down on the edge of the bed.
"Morning? It's after 3 pm. I can't believe I slept so late, I don't even remember going to sleep. How aren't you hungover?" At this point I didn't even realize that my head wasn't pounding anymore, but plopping down on the bed probably didn't help her's.
"Do you remember anything from last night?" I shook my head. "Nothing. I planned on getting shit faced, so that seemed to work in my favor." She nodded. "Do you have any ibuprofen at least? My head is killing me right now."
"Yeah, right in the bathroom." I pointed through the red lit doorway, "just go through there." I got off the bed so she could remove the covers and noticed that she was in my clothes. Well at least one of my shirts which looked like a dress on her. I couldn't help but smile as I watched her.
"I'm gonna go downstairs to see if anyone made food, if you want to meet down there." I said before leaving my room and closing the door behind me.
When I got downstairs I was surprised to see that everyone was up and moving. "It's about tine you got up, brother. We've been waiting on you so we could go get some food." I nodded, grabbing a water from the fridge. "Thank god, I'm starving."
"There's the man of the hour!" Corey said, clapping his hand on my back. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, furrowing my brows. "Wait, you actually don't remember anything last night?" I shook my head. "No, am I supposed to?"
We walked into the living room where everyone was sitting, and I noticed that Angelina was in different clothes. I guess one of the girls let her borrow clothes since we all drank too much last night.
I sat down besides Corey and Sophia walked into the living room, sitting on the edge of the couch. "Soph, do you remember anything about last night?" I looked over at her as she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't remember anything after truth or dare. I know me and Jake had a talk after, but I went to the kitchen and started to drink more."
A grin formed on Corey's lips and he let out a laugh. "I can't believe you guys don't remember! Soph, at least tell the story about truth or dare."
"Oh, okay." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "We were a few rounds into the game, and mister innocent Jake over here dared me to kiss Colby. And we kissed. But that was it." We kissed? And I had no recollection of it whatsoever? I don't know about you, but that was something I wanted to remember.
"Okay, so we kissed for a dare. What else happened?" I asked, looking over at Corey. He looked like he was ready to burst at the seams in any second. "I think liquid courage got the best of you, brother. You kept sneaking up behind Soph, and I saw you come up to her in the kitchen and put your hands on her hips. I'm assuming one of you asked to dance, because you led her back to the party. I was just walking through the room and she waved me down to take her drink. You guys were just dancing and having a good time."
I cocked my head to the side. "So... you were that excited just to say that we danced?" I looked over at Kat who was giggling away on Sam's lap. "Oh Colby, look at you trying to act all innocent, as if you guys weren't making out on the dance floor all night."
"Wait, are you serious?" She nodded her head. "We all saw it brother." Jake said. "Not that it bothers me, but I would like to be able to remember something like that." Sophia finally said, and I nodded my head. "Same."
"Well, now that the cat's out of the bag, let's get going to grab some food. We've been starving waiting for you two to wake up all morning and afternoon."
"Do one of you have a makeup wipe so I can clean up, and maybe some leggings I could wear out?" Sophia asked the girls. "I don't think I should leave the house in just Colby's shirt." A giggle left her lips as Kat and Tara got up from the couch and led her away to help her clean up so we could leave.
"Colby, brother, what's up with you?" Sam asked as I raked my fingers through my hair. "There is something about her, don't get me wrong about that."
Sam stopped me right there in my tracks. "Dude, you think we couldn't tell that? You do realize how much has happened in the last twenty-four hours?"
"Yeah but I was drunk for most of it! What am I supposed to do about that? Neither of us remembered anything, and if anything, nobody had to speak up. We could've stayed delusional and acted like nothing happen. Things don't need to be weird."
"You have some sort of feelings that you can't deny, Colby. You never let yourself feel anything. It's been so long since you let yourself open up to anyone, so what's stoping you?" Sam asked.
"She goes home in three days."
