I sat in Sophia's room for maybe an hour, holding her hand in mine. Everyone was huddled in the room, but I turned them out. I only wanted to focus on my girlfriend and her well being. I needed her to be okay.

"Wow, it sure is a party in here." The doctor said as she entered the room, closing the curtain behind her.

"The good news, no internal bleeding. The bad news is that she has a mild concussion. She's most likely going to be out for the night, which is normal. When she wakes up will give her some Tylenol. But no more ghost hunting for her, she needs to get over this."

"It's fine if you guys want to go back and finish this up. I'll stay here." I said, looking over at everyone.

"We'll stay with you." Angelina said, rearing her hand on Ryan's knee.

"Sam, I promise it's okay for you to go. If I need anything, I'll call one of you." Sam nodded silently.

"I know how excited she was to do this, and she only wanted to protect us. It upsets me to see this get cut so short on her. She's got quite a gift." Zak said, stuffing his hands into his front pockets.

"Trust me, if she heard you say that, she would be freaking out. You guys are what got her into all of this." I said, gently squeezing her hand.

"Call us if you need anything, okay?" Aaron said.

"Will do."

I needed up falling asleep for a few hours before I was woken up by the sound of groaning. I slowly sat up in my chair to see Sophia was finally awake.

"Hey, no sudden movements. Are you okay?" I asked as I stood up, brushing some hair away from her face.

"What happened?" She asked, nearly croaking.

"Don't talk, let's get a nurse in here, okay?" I pressed the call button and she nodded slightly. "Jake didn't listen to your warning, and it ended in you getting attacked. You've been out for hours. The doctor said you have a concussion."

"Are we doing okay in here?" The nurse asked as she entered the room. "Oh, so good to see you awake! Let me grab some water and Tylenol and I'll be right back." I nodded as she left the room.

After a few minutes the nurse came back and I helped Sophia slowly sit up. Angelina and Ryan were passed out on the couch, and I had no idea how they were able to sleep through this.

She shakily took a sip of water, letting it coat her throat before she took the Tylenol. "That's going to help with the headache. You'll just have to keep up on that every four to six hours."

"Will I be able to go home?" She asked, chewing on her bottom lip. "Most likely in the morning, your doctor just wants to monitor you and make sure you're doing alright, so just get some rest sweetie."

Morning rolled around and the doctor came in to check on Sophia. "Can you tell me your full name?"

"Sophia Rose Emerson." She said.

"How old are you?"

"I'm twenty four."

"Your boyfriend here, what is his name?"

"Cole Robert Brock, but he goes by Colby."

"Your friends that are on the couch?"

"Angelina and her husband Ryan."

"I think you're good to go." She said as she removed the IV from my arm. "It's just a mild concussion, the best thing that you can continue to do is sleep and take Tylenol."

"She's not safe to fly, right?"

"Oh no," she said, shaking her head. "It looks like you'll be spending Christmas in California."

Sam brought the car to pick all of us up, and bring us back to the Traphouse. He even managed to pack up all of our stuff since we wouldn't be returning to the Cecil Hotel. I wanted to stay by her side in case anything happened, and it just seemed safer for Angelina and Ryan to stay back, being she was pregnant.

In the end, it was just safer for all of us, and for once I had to do what was best.
