I woke up a little early the next morning, around 11 am. It may not seem early, but Colby loved his sleep. I was really just anxious knowing there was going to be groups of people looking at my house today. I wanted to be hopeful that someone would have interest in it. The faster it would sell; the faster I could try to buy the house I found down here.
It just felt like a whirlwind to know that my life, for once, was slowly falling into place.
Heading downstairs to the kitchen, I grabbed a bowl from the cabinet and pulled out a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and poured myself a bowl with some almond milk. I sat at the island and aimlessly scrolled through my phone as I ate. The house was still pretty quiet because everyone stayed up late, so I was on my own for now.
Which I didn't mind, because it's pretty rare for it to be quiet with this many people. Especially when Kat and Tara spend the night.
Just as I was washing my bowl, I heard the faint sounds of voices. I set the bowl in the dish rack to dry and made my way out of the kitchen to see Sam, Corey, and Jake sitting on the couch, already debating on where to order food from.
"You guys are at this already?" I ruffled my hands through my hair and plopped down on the empty side of the couch.
"The girls are hungry, but I doubt anyone is hungrier than me." Corey said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Just find a place with brunch so everyone can have the best of both worlds. Problem solved." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "The faster you figure it out, the quicker you can hear about the news I've got."
"News?" Jake asked.
I nodded my head.
"What kind of news..." Sam said, raising a brow.
I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't going to say anything until they were ready.
"Sam, she's scaring me." Corey said.
"How about you guys focus on getting everyone's food order, place it, then come back and meet me here. Deal?"
"Deal." They all said in unison before scurrying off.
Twenty minutes had passed by and a groggy Colby made his way down the stairs, and I couldn't help but laugh. "How are you always this dead?"
"I promise I'm not like this all the time. Taking a break from filming has let me make my sleep schedule so out of wack." He said as he plopped down onto the couch, resting his head in my lap. Without hesitation I began to run my fingers through the purple tips of his hair.
"Angelina should be here tomorrow morning, do you want to come with me to the airport to grab her?" I asked, glancing down at him. "Yeah, maybe we could grab breakfast."
Just then everyone filed out of Corey's room.
"Finally decided on your food?" I asked.
"Woah, you guys got food without me?!" Colby asked, pouting his bottom lip.
"Don't worry Colbs, Sam got you." Kat said with a smile.
"Thank god, cause I'm starving." He said, burying his face into my lap. I let out a giggle and smacked his back.
"So, what is this news you've got for us?" Sam asked, sitting down on the couch.
"Well, by now you all know about the Cecil Hotel.." I started.
"Of course, there's a documentary being filmed currently, from what I've heard." Sam said.
"Mad weird shit there, brother." Jake said.
"Without a doubt, yes. What would you do if you had the chance to investigate?" I asked, trying to keep the blankest look on my face.
"That would honestly be an opportunity of a lifetime." Sam said. "I couldn't even imagine."
"I think it would be dope, brother. Not a lot of people get the chance to do something like that. Cool thing to brag about." Jake said.
"Even more with the place being shut down. That's not something easy to come by at all." Corey said.
"Well for me, it is." I simply said, twirling a strand of hair around my finger.
"Hold on... you're going to investigate the Cecil?" Sam asked, and I nodded my head. "How so?"
"I have my connections. He might go by the name of Zak Bagans." I said with a sly smirk forming on my lips.
"Are you serious?" Corey asked, raising his brows in shock.
"Yeah, he was super sweet when me and Angelina met him. I still kept in touch with him. Do you guys wanna come? He said I could bring y'all."
"Brother, pause. The one and only Zak Bagans knows who we are?" He asked, his jaw almost on the floor.
"Did you guys forget you're popular YouTube stars?" I asked with a laugh. "He knows about you even more since Colby and I are dating."
The room grew silent.
"Earth to you boys! Do you want to come or not?!" I asked.
"Yes!" The three said in unison.
"Good, because I have one last news drop." I said.
"There's more?" Corey asked.
"Yep. Angelina is flying in tomorrow and joining us."
"Dude, no way!" Kat exclaimed. "We've missed her so much!"
"So it'll be the six of us again. But the thing is, they're filming this as a special for some new app that's dropping, he didn't tell me which it was. We start Monday, and we'll be there for a week."
Colby nodded his head. "They already rented an RV for us to stay in too. It's gonna be sick."
"We'll have to be on good behavior because we'll be filmed for their show, but they will also be in our video. Since you guys are taking a break from paranormal content on your channel, I'll be posting it on mine. I'm telling you guys, this is going to be so sick!"
