Chapter 17

Once both Link and Red were back at the Flight Range, Link gingerly put Red down who continued blushing. The blond smiled and leaned in, tenderly kissing the nose of his lover, hence causing the red-haired boy to squeak slightly and cover his face. "You're so cute, my darling." Link whispered before climbing up the ladder.

Red stood at the bottom of the ladder for a second before climbing up. He noticed Link pulling some materials out of one the bags they brought with them. "Whatcha wanna eat Red?" he asked, looking at him with a small smile. Red thought for a second "I don't know... how about you Link?" the older male shrugged.

An idea popped into Red's head; one he wasn't so sure about. He hesitated before finally pushing himself to say it "Hey, uh... Link, how about... um... how about I try to cook something for you?" the red-haired male felt nervous, he had cooked for himself before, but no one else had tried his cooking. "You seem nervous, are you sure?" Link smiled with slight concern. Red nodded without a thought, he felt slight regret as he felt he was going to mess up.

"Red, you really don't have to... I can feel-" "Link... you've been cooking for us the whole time. I think I should at least try to make something for you... please, let me..." Link sighed and gave Red a small smile. Red gave him a nervous smile back as he grabbed some materials.

Red carefully started to cook up using the limited materials they had. He felt Link's careful eyes on him as he stirred up all the ingredients. Once he finally finished up the food, the male stared at it with pure disappointment, he had messed it up just as he feared. "L-Link... I'm sorry... I-I ruined it..." his voice cracked with a mix of dread, sadness and embarrassment.

Red's head bowed in shame when he felt Link's arms wrap around him "I'm sure it still tastes good." he whispered carefully taking the ladle from Red's hand and sipping a small bit of the mixture. His eyes sparkled "It tastes brilliant!" Link shouted.

"Link, it's burnt..." Red said as he rose an eyebrow. "Burnt or not it tastes delicious!" Link exclaimed. "Try it!" Link said getting another scoop. Red opened his mouth allowing Link to carefully put the ladle to his lips.

Red gagged and coughed as soon as the first drop reached his mouth. "Link... I'm sorry but how does that taste good?" Link looked confused, shrugging as he started eating some more.

Teba walked over to the two "Teba! You should taste what Red made! It's really good!" Link exclaimed. "Please don't-" Red said but it was too late, Teba had grabbed the ladle and took a small sip before dropping it. He looked disgusted. "-it's been burnt..." Red whispered as he turned away.

"Link... I get that you love Red but, this is awful!" Teba exclaimed, Red nodding in agreement. Link gave them a confused look "More for me then?" he chuckled awkwardly as he began to eat the rest up.

"Anyways, we've got to leave to bring down Vah Medoh soon." Teba deadpanned looking to the sky. "Link, since you have a way with a bow, you're going to have to explode the cannons. Red can stay on my back until we bring the shield down and can get onto it." the two Hylians nodded at the plan before suddenly a familiar voice was heard "and what about me?"

Sparrow landed on the runoff smiling at the other three "it wouldn't be safe for you guys not to have a distraction considering those cannons up there?" he asked. "Sparrow, you're not going up there and risking your life when your eggs and soon to be kids are without a mother." Teba stated.

"Look Teba, I would rather die knowing my kids will grow up safe and will be able to fly freely without that thing up in the sky kill them for going near it." Sparrow argued. "Maybe he can help get Link up there? The both of us on you might be heavy Teba" Red smiled gently. Teba shook his head "I'll be fine, Sparrow, you know that even you can die. What if this all fails?"
