Red blinked the sleep out of his eyes, squirming as he tried to get himself comfortable in Link's hold while also not overheating from the heat of Death Mountain, eventually just having Link spoon him. He groaned as he reached out for the Elixir next to him, just barely touching it as Link brought him closer, mumbling in his sleep before starting to softly snore.

He let out a small frustrated groan, squirming a little to try and get closer, but, it was no use, Link ultimately kept him in place, and didn't seem to want to let go even in his sleep. He noticed, however, that Link's slate was right next to their bed at least, letting out a sigh of relief, he picked it up. '5:13 am' it stated on the map screen, making Red internally groan.

He found himself giving up, just staring at the elixir, praying to Hylia he wouldn't burst into flames before Link let him go.

Link nuzzled his face into Red's hair, yawning as he finally woke up. "Link... please let me go..." Red whispered. Link shook his head, only holding him tighter. "Link... please... for one second..."

Link hummed, finally bothering to open his eyes, "What time is it?" Red looked back at the Shiekah Slate, "5:34... I've been waiting for 21 minutes, Link... I need to drink some of that elixir please..." Link was silent for a moment before moving his arms, allowing Red to finally reach the elixir.

He drank it all down before lying back down with Link again. "Happy birthday..." he whispered, pressing his lips to Link's, earning a small chuckle. "Thank you." He whispered, moving his arms around Red's waist, "I think this is already my best birthday so far... I mean... I can't remember my birthdays before this one but... waking up to you... just... made this birthday."

Red blushed, hiding his face in Link's neck instantly, "I'm sure you've had way better birthdays... especially considering the fact that you've got your head all bandaged up..." He muttered, earning a playful scoff from Link who shook his head. "They'll be off by breakfast..."

Red pulled away from him, perplexed, "How do you know?"

Link smiled, "Have you ever noticed that I seem to... almost get better when I eat even just a mere apple?" Red blinked, remembering even back when he first met Link, he seemed to always manage to have the least injuries despite how much he would get hit, and even when he did have a noticeable injury, it would disappear within the day. He swore he was going insane every time.

"What the in the everloving hell, Link? How?!" Red quickly sat up, sending himself into a coughing fit, Link sat up in return and patted his back, as he attempted to take deep breaths, letting out a large wheeze before the fit finally ended, tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry..." he gasped, leaning into Link as the blond wrapped his arms around his torso.

Link gently pressed his lips to Red's cheek, "It's okay... you can't control it..." He looked up noticing one of the doctors from the previous night, holding back a grumble for not having more time alone with his love.

The doctor cleared his throat, getting the attention of Red now, whose eyes widened. "I'm here to check up on your conditions so you can leave within the next couple of hours, brothers." Link let out a small sigh before nodding, moving back to his own bed much to the disappointment of both himself and Red. The doctor first moved to Red, "Let's check your breathing again, shall we?"

Red nodded as Link moved his eyes towards some bags in the corner of the room, their bags. He glanced over at Red and the doctor for a second before sneaking over, carefully grabbing a couple of apples before rushing back to bed. He smirked at Red who gave him a look over the doctor's shoulder as the goron spoke to him. He took quick bites of each apple, the doctor somehow not hearing the crunch of each bite, he swore that the doctor was deaf.
