Red felt like crying as he laid his head in Link's lap, trying not to panic as he listened to Aleya's pained screams. Despite how much Link told him to try not to, he couldn't help but listen...

It was too early for this... it was too early for the baby to come... it should have been a few weeks away from now. He couldn't help but blame himself for it, he had caused Aleya so much stress... maybe she... maybe she was still scared of him... maybe he still reminded her of her father.

"Red... are you okay? Do you want to take a walk?" Link broke him out of thought, worry evident on his face. "No... I'm fine and... and I need to stay to make sure Aleya's okay."

Link sighed "Red, you're as pale as a ghost, Aleya's going to be fine... it'll be better for you and maybe even Aleya if you go for a walk." Red shook his head quickly, repeating no under his breath multiple times before Link gently grabbed his face "Red... breath... I won't force you... I promise..."

The red-haired male looked him dead in the eye and started to just sob "Something went wrong, Link. That's the only reason she would be giving birth right now... something went wrong... what if the baby doesn't make it? What if Aleya doesn't make it? Goddesses what if neither of them makes it?!" his words left his mouth so fast Link couldn't understand some of it.

"Red..."

"If she dies then the baby will be without its mother and Sidon will be heartbroken, if the baby dies then I can't even imagine how badly Aleya and Sidon would grieve and it'd be worse for Sidon if he loses both of them... I... I don't think I'll be able to live with myself if both of them are lost..."

Link carefully sat Red up and pulled him into his lap, he gently placed a hand on his love's cheek, Red instantly melted into it. "I'm sure that the doctors here won't allow that to happen, Red... don't you remember the doctor that helped patch up the injuries from Waterblight? I'm pretty sure I saw them leading Sidon and Aleya to a room. You remember how good they were, don't you?" Red nodded as he tried to quiet down his sobs. "Then I have no doubt that they will do everything they can to ensure that both Aleya and the baby survive."

Red didn't fully believe him, but he nodded as he did anyways to not worry him. He nuzzled his face into his boyfriend's neck and closed his eyes. Link started to gently hum into his ear to help and distract him from his friend's cries of pain.

They both jumped when they heard Sidon screech in pain.

Red's breath hitched as panic started to set in again before he heard the cry of a baby. He froze as tears formed in his eyes, he couldn't tell what emotion he was feeling in the moment, he was glad the baby was okay, at least for now, but worried that Aleya or even Sidon could've gotten hurt.

He stood up when the doctor finally came out after about 30 minutes and smiled "The mother and baby are both perfectly fine!"

Red grinned out of relief before turning to Link and bringing him into a bear hug. "Wait- what about Sidon? We heard him scream before."

The doctor seemed to freeze for a second before responding "Well, let's just say that the mother crushed the prince's hand..." they muttered, "other than that he's okay! Just needs some pain killers and to take some time to rest with his family!" the two males couldn't tell how they should feel about the statement but didn't get to ask any questions as the doctor continued "the father will come to get you once they're ready, if he doesn't come out by dinner then I'll come to find you once they are."

In saying that the doctor walked away.

"I told you they'd be okay..." Link smiled gently as he gently kissed his boyfriend's forehead. Red nodded, at a loss for words.

Aleya held her new baby close, gingerly stroking a finger on the baby girl's cheek. Sidon's zora genes were strong, to say the least.

She was beautiful, her scales were as blue as cobalt, her cheeks were softer than pillows and no words could simply describe how adorable it was when she let out little coos.

"She's... perfect..." Sidon said in a breath while cradling his broken, bandaged hand.

"I'm sorry I broke your hand, Sid..." Aleya yawned, her lethargic state not helping her recent lack of decent sleep. Slowly turning her gaze to rest on her child. Her scales a mix of a light turquoise and a cobalt dust blue, a steady fade the further down to the end of her limbs it got. She was magnificent, in Aleya's and Sidon's eyes.

"My love, have you thought of a name for her?" Sidon asked softly, making sure he didn't overwhelm her senses.

"Myra... I feel like Myra suits her..." It was so quiet that the prince had to strain his ears to coherently hear her. He let out a content hum of approval as he rest his head on Aleya's lightly.

A moment or two passed where the two were still, Aleya struggling to keep awake as she wanted to keep adoring her child, and Sidon unmoving as he drifted to a light slumber. Eventually, the doctor tasked with helping Aleya through the- unnatural- birthing came back in and asked if they could take Myra and run some tests, making sure she was healthy.

Reluctantly, Aleya handed her over, exhaustion hitting her in full swing as she got a little comfier. She slowly drifted off, relishing in the quiet around her, and the more comfortable state of being she was in.
