Link woke up to some slight sobs and whines. "R-Red?" he asked, his voice hoarse. He looked at the boy in question and noticed that he was asleep, but fear was etched on his face. "F-fuck! Red! Wake up!" Link carefully shook Red. Red screamed and punched Link, knocking him out of bed.

Link sat up rubbing his cheek. "L-Link! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" Red panicked. "It's fine! A-are you okay? Were you having a nightmare?" Link said as he stood up. Red froze as if he didn't know how to answer. "Red... please answer me..." Link said carefully. Red let out a small sob before full-on breaking down. Link hugged him gently "H-Hey... it's okay... I'm here... just breathe..." he comforted. "L-Link... it's all my fault..." Red muttered. "H-he could've been alive right now if it weren't for me helping convince Teba..." Link cradled the red-haired boy in his arms as he rocked him back and forth.

"I'll get you some water, do you want some sand?"

"..."

"What?" Red asked incredulously. Did he hear right? Link asked him if he wanted sand? "N-no...? Thanks...?"

"See? You aren't crying anymore! Now, I'm getting you some water. You- you lay there." Link announced as he carefully put Red down before going out of the room before Red could say a word. "What- I- uh..." Red stuttered, still confused and flustered at what just happened. He completely forgot about the nightmare for a few moments.

The nightmare...

Red felt sick just thinking about it again. He let out a shaky breath and curled up in a ball, trying to keep his mind off it. But it keeps replaying in his mind.

A dark void, much like when he met original Red, but something was off about it. Original Red wasn't there, but instead, Sparrow. But this wasn't Sparrow, no way it was. His eyes, they weren't blue and were pure black, even the whites. "Oh, Red? Why'd you help convince Teba to let me go with you? Did you want me to die?" the white Rito asked.

"N-no! Of course not!" Red yelled. He tried to tell himself that it's not real, it's just a bad dream, but Sparrow spoke again. "Of course, you did, I mean, surely you knew about how Harth almost died so you knew it would kill me. I bet you're not even a part of the prophecy. You're ruining Hyrule!" Sparrow smirked. Red let out a small sob "P-Please... I didn't want this to happen! I didn't want you to die!"

"Of course, you did, you wanted to stop me from seeing my eggs hatch." Sparrow glared down at Red "You're a monster..."

Then, it ended. Though those words repeated in his head. Was 'Sparrow' correct? Was he really a monster? Was he not a part of the prophecy? Red covered his head with his arms. He could hear footsteps approaching, the ones of Link. Red sighed, he didn't want to worry Link, he already did. He just hoped that Link wasn't worrying too much.

He heard the footsteps stop next to his bed. "Red, darling. You have to sit up; I have your water." Link's voice was calm and with a tint of worry. Red rolled over, uncurling himself in the process, he carefully sat up and took the water out of Link's hand, drinking almost half in one sitting. "Heh, you were really thirsty, weren't you?" Link chuckled as he sat next to the red-haired male.

Red carefully put the water down and cuddled into Link. Sighing slightly having only just realised it was still dark out. "Red... it's... really not your fault you know..." Link muttered, he was careful with his words, not wanting to upset the younger male. "B-but...Lin-" "Red. You had no way of knowing... if anything... I'm more at fault than you."

"Link... why would it be your fault?" Red asked, pure worry in his voice. "He told me he was hurt... so... I should've made sure he made it back to safety, somehow. But... I think that he may have been hit for a second time... and that may have been the reason he died." Link explained, his voice dark. "Link... don't tell me it's not my fault for one reason and then say it's your fault for the same reason..."
