Chapter 26

Red yawned slightly and nuzzled into Link's chest. The sun had been risen for what had probably been hours and yet, he couldn't be bothered to get up or even wake Link up. He looked up at Link's sleeping face and started to admire it. The blond's mouth was slightly ajar as small snores came from it, he looked calm as he slept, Red took it as a sign he was having a good dream.

Red chuckled as a bit of blond hair fell into Link's mouth before gently brushing it behind his ear. Link stirred a bit before mumbling, "Red... let's just go make out already~" before going back to that same sleeping face as before. The red-haired male blinked as he fully took in what Link had said in his sleep. "Wake up and maybe we can..." Red muttered as softly as possible, mostly joking... mostly. Link stirred again and tightened his grip on Red. Oh... oh shit... is he having one of those dreams?! Red blushed at his thoughts when suddenly Link started leaning in.

Red started kinda panicking. WAIT IS HE AWAKE OR ASLEEP?! IS IT EVEN CONSENT IF HE'S SLEEPING?! IF HE'S THE ONE LEANING IN WHILE ASLEEP WITH A GRIP SO TIGHT I CAN'T GET AWAY IS IT HIS FAULT OR MINE?! All those thoughts stopped when his love kissed his nose and let out a chuckle. "Surprised ya, didn't I?" he said in his morning voice.

"I thought you were asleep! How long have you been awake?!" Red exclaimed as he nuzzled back into Link's chest to try and hide his blushing face. "Long enough to know that you got a strand of hair out of my mouth... thanks for that by the way..." Link smiled. Red's blush only deepened as he realised that Link heard his little comment earlier too...

"So... do you wanna make out or was that just a joke?" Link asked. Red looked up at him, if his hands weren't underneath Link, he'd be twiddling his thumbs as he looked for a good answer. "I-I mean it was mostly a joke... but I mean... I kinda want to..." he whispered. Link gave him a tired smile "Come closer then..."

Red shuffled a small bit towards Link, who gently grabbed him by the chin and pressed his lips to his. The redhead gasped into the kiss as Link gently bit his bottom lip, which allowed said blond to make the kiss much more passionate.

After a few minutes, Link pulled away as Red let out a small sigh of mostly disappointment. "What do you wanna eat?" the blond asked, hoping that Red's disappointment would go away, "I dunno... just make whatever you want..." he mumbled as he rolled off Link and faced away from him. Link instantly felt bad, had Red been wanting more? If so, why didn't he tell him?

"Red? Darling, I'm sorr-" Link was interrupted by Red snickering slightly, "What are you snickering for~?" Red let out an even louder laugh, "Ah- ahah! Sorry... I just remembered something... what were you saying?" Link smiled slightly, Red's laugh echoed through his head for a few moments before he finally replied.

"I was apologizing for pulling away..."

"Huh? Why? There's no need to... we can't make out forever even if we wanted to!" Red exclaimed. "I-I thought you were disappointed. Not only disappointed, mad at me..." Red shook his head gently "Trust me... I would never be mad at you for something as little as you pulling away from a kiss. A little disappointed, yes, but never mad."

Link brushed some hair out of Red's eyes "Thank you..." Red tilted his head in confusion. "For literally existing." Red blushed and ended up looking like a fish as he kept opening his mouth to speak before closing it. "Damn I didn't know you were secretly a red betta fish..." Link grinned as Red glared at him "... heh... to be fair though... the beauty of a betta fish can never compare to yours..."

"I... Link... you're cruel making me flustered at least once a day..." Red squeaked as he hid his face into the pillow. "Hm... I know~" he heard Link say as he got up "and I'm not going to stop because guess what?" Red hummed as he looked to Link who now had boxers on. "Your cute when you're flustered." Red buried his head in his pillow as he blushed again. "Stop... please..."
