The cold air bit at his extremely pale skin, his black and brown hair flowing in his face. He closed his ocean blue eyes as he pushed through the cold. Coming across yet another stable, he decided to rest his sore and overworked legs in the much, much warmer place.

Letting out a defeated sigh, his legs gave out from underneath him as he collapsed on the floor of the stable, dragging attention to him. No matter how much he had tried for the past week or so, he couldn't get Aleya off of his mind, not what she did to his friend, his comrade, his cousin of all people.

While yes, he did understand that Cancer could be clingy and annoying at times, he knew why. She had been told countless times that makeup was the only thing that could attract people to her, that if she lost countless kilograms of weight, she would be better. And every time she would come crying to him, asking if it was true.

He'd always deny it. He told her the truth.

She never believed him.

She'd cut herself, bruise her skin, then cover it with makeup and put on the act for the boys. Until she had found Red, he was her main confident. After the little fucker introduced himself to her and wanted to be her friend, he was forgotten. The white-haired boy and his cousin would talk for weeks on end.

But thank Hylia Red rejected her.

She came crying back to him after that. "Why didn't he like me, Alec?" "Am I too ugly?" "Do I need more makeup?" She'd ask. And every time in comfort her tell her there was nothing wrong with her.

Every time.

And every time when she'd talk to him, she'd just go back to Red. He hated him, but his hate was overruled by his desire to make his cousin happy. So, of course, he'd help her get with her crush, the only boy she had fallen in love with. He helped her through the times. Trying his best not to hurt her feelings. He knew Red had no feelings past 'friend', and if she kept it up, she'd lose him.

Even so, he kept up his act, saying it was going to be fine.

Even as he sat in the stable, Cancer and Aleya the only two things in his mind. The sound of the love of his life shooting his cousin rang through his ears. He looked outside and saw a large pillar that resembled that of a perch for a bird.

"Excuse me?" He gained the attention of the man behind the counter. "Yes, young man?" he replied, not hiding the looks he gave to the attire. "What's that?" He pondered, pointing towards the peculiar shape the rocks formed.

"Rito Village." Was all he said, ignoring the clueless expression Alec wore upon his face. "You weren't told anything, were you?" He added. Earning a nod from the boy. "Well, sit down and get comfy, I'll tell you a story since hardly anyone stops by here anymore."

(A/N: I'm sorry for the short chapter, but I didn't want to reveal too much as you'll find out more during the other chapters. - )
