The next day, Hinata woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. He pulled himself out of Kageyama's arms and reached for his phone. He looked at the caller ID and saw it was his mom.

He hesitantly picked up. Kageyama sat up, hearing Hinata's voice on the phone. He wrapped his arms around his waist and rested his head on his shoulder, waiting for him to hang up.

Hinata said goodbye to his mother on the phone and hung up.

"Who was that?" Kageyama asked, his voice sounding sleepy.

"My mom... She wants us to come over for dinner tonight." Hinata said nervously.

Kageyama was taken back by this, considering that Hinata's mom didn't exactly like him.

"Us?" He asked, Clarifying that he had heard him correctly.

Hinata nodded.

"She wants to talk to me about something..." he said, sounding worried.

Kageyama pulled Hinata back down onto the bed, holding him close to him, and they fell back to sleep.

~Later that day~

Kageyama and Hinata got ready to go to his mom's. They headed downstairs, where they saw Daichi standing at the front door staring at something in confusion.

"Daichi?" Hinata said, trying to figure out what he was staring at.

Daichi turned to them."

"I opened the door and found this pile of socks... I don't know what's going on," he said.

Just then, Tanaka and Noya came down the stairs.

"You found our socks!?" Noya shouted.

The two of them went on the pile and took the socks that were theirs. Under the pile was a note. That said

Daichi decided not to ask questions and just to let it go.

Kageyama and Hinata also decided to let it go and walked out the door and headed to Hinata's old house. The whole way there, Hinata was quiet. Kageyama could sense Hinata's uneasiness. He held his hand, hoping that it'd help ease him a little.

Hinata sighed and looked up at Kageyama.

"I don't know what it is, but I have a bad feeling," he said

"Yeah, I do too," Kageyama said.

They got to Hinata's mom's house and knocked on the door. Hinata's aunt answered it and let them in. She didn't say anything to Kageyama. Hinata and Kageyama both sighed as they walked into the kitchen.

"Nii-Chan!!!" Natsu yelled and ran to her brother. Hinata knelt down and hugged her.

She looked up at Kageyama and gave him a smile. Kageyama smiled at her, happy that at least one of Hinata's family members liked him.

Hinata's mom was setting the table, and Hinata noticed someone was in the kitchen with her. He remembered his mom mentioned a beta that would be living with them and assumed that's who it was. He was right; his mom brought a man into the dining area with her.

"This is Alex; he's the beta me and your aunt have living with us," his mom said.

Kageyama didn't know what it was exactly about this beta, but he gave him a weird feeling. Instinctively he looped an arm around Hinata's waist, pulling him closer.
